I did actually have mine fully connected before I decided to do it over. I may have expanded my pins out to the point of proper fit on the initial connection.

For those of you that have been waiting, for the surface mount version of the board. The development is complete and will be available for sale January 1st. I will be re-writing the procedure with new pics and a version for the guys that do not like soldering.

I have one of the original ones you made - I am also ignorant - please smarten me up if possible. What's the difference ? What makes it better ? Your advantage to the answer will be another bump. Thanks Curious George.

There really is no difference in functionality between the two. The main difference is manufacturability, (easier for me to build). And a larger array of LED's that i can offer to the customer. Since this item is patent pending, i wanted to make it all it could be, incase some large company wants to buy it and install in all brand new Tacoma's!!! Ya never know.

Yes, and here is the one i have been testing for 9 days straight so far, and it is cool as a cucumber. The SMD components are really nice to solder.

    yeah right!?
You would not believe the amount of people that ask me for the procedure. The link is also on the eBay description. I was hoping it was not just me. I am hoping it is people that are just stumbling across the eBay auction and know nothing about TW.
I am trying to save some trees, and not print the darn thing out.
    Sorry Rant Over. :)

Just ordered one the other day and I'm pumped about putting this thing in...It has pissed me off since day one that the 4wd switch, door lock buttons, and window up/down buttons don't light up. Really Toyota? even chevy's do.

    G'day rcbs204,

Got one of your Toyota Tacoma Illuminated 4x4 Switches for 2011 and gotta say your product is "Top Shelf". Following your instructions made the installation into the 4wd switch a "piece of cake". Used a small jewelers screwdriver to dislodge the four tabs to get to the location to install the printed circuit .

I really appreciate you effort on this mod. Thanks

From a "common sense point of view", discarding $, I just can not come up with a valid reason for Toyota to illuminate everything on the dash except the 4wd switch.

Then again, what do I know.

    Cheers

    Bob

We had a lot of snow in NJ a day late for Christmas. Anyway then it was warm so it melted and froze over night. Pulling out of the driveway to go to work the other day a tire started spinning on the ice. What a pleasure to just put it in 4H with out fumbling or turning the dome light on and off.
