ok so i have decided to lift my 05 tacoma dbl cab long bed and get rid of the big rims look... i have sat on here for the past 3 hrs and researched the site about spacers vs the 5100s so on and so forth... to get started its gonna be for looks i like the feel of a truck that sits up higher so i am looking for the right choice that wont break the bank but will last.. i was hell bent on the toytec 3" spacer but then i saw the 3" that had new coils with a spacer whats the difference??? then i saw alot guys on here running the 5100s??? i am so confused right now... all i want is my truck is about three inches of lift and to be able to put a thicker tire and still maintain a decent ride quality??? PLEASE HELP!!!!

if you are willing to spend a little bit of money i would look into a spindle lift. they are 3.5" to 4" but it is a front lift only. they keep the suspension geometry the same, so you will maintain stock ride comfort. if i was going to lift again i would do it right the first time and not have to go back and redue it.

for the rear i would do block w/ aal or just go ahead and get a whole new leaf pack allpro 3in leaf pack maybe.

Get camburg spindles, and get 4" of lift and you can keep your stock suspension up front.

thanks for the current responses but i am never gonna go offroad with this truck meaning like mudding or trail romping and its only a two wheel drive is there another route that is a little cheaper?

Wondered about this.... nothing else is needed up front, just throw on the spindles and all is good?

hmmm.... in this case it would seem to be the better option for the PreRunners. Less components to deal with. Is it a true 4" lift up front if going with a 4" lift spindle?

The ONLY way to get 4" is with spindles or RCD lift for 4.5". They give you 4" and a wider track width up front as well, kinda the first step in the prerunner look before LT. Yes they cost 1k but I have never spent so much and been so happy! By far the best money spent on my truck. If I were you, which I was, keep the truck stock and save up for the spindles and do that the first time. saving on lunch money by taking it to work could get you the spindles in a couple months.
