    They are smooth. The main thing is it is a matter of scale. Each of those rings is 6ft tall with a circumference of 95 feet. They planish the welds, but to completely smooth them would take weeks of grinding and any little mistake would weaken the joint and lead to a possible rupture. In the end you are not going to see over half of the ship because of the heatshield. Here is a good picture showing SN1's nosecone using their old method, vs a tank using the newer method.

    So it looks like a HUGE piece of debris JUST BARELY missed Everyday Astronaut's camera setup! Means they should be able to get better footage of SN15.

    They're still picking them! https://dearmoon.earth/ As I've said before though, they are going to have dozens of landings under their belt before they put people on it. They'll get 200+ launches/landings from starlink alone.

    I *think* it's on top of the structure, with the solar panels laid out next to it.

    Everyday astronaut's is the setup to the top right of the large debris,to the right of them is NSF, and the large container with solar panels is Labpadre.

    I wonder if that cam is the one we got footage from NSF? I prefer watching them over EA.

    Those are their pad cams. In the video you can see how close they are at the 7:00 mark. EA has the best cameras though, his post launch videos are the best out there.

    Last official renders I saw has tiles on the windward side and the leading edges, but just stainless on the top.

    Also, yeah, they've been working on evolving their technique. Current builds are 4mm stainless, they're going to go down to 3 on some parts of the newer ones. And after the first cryo-proof the starships unbend quite a bit and get super smooth.

    Well before the first person gets into one they plan on doing dozens, if not hundreds of flights in an unmanned mode first. The entire paradigm is based on second stage reuse and refuel-in-orbit, after all .. which means that to top off those orbital tanker-mode ones, at least 5 missions need to launch and land.

    First for a Commercial Crew vehicle:

    https://spacenews.com/crew-dragon-moves-to-new-docking-port-at-

    Four, count them four, ISS crew changes scheduled in April:

    April 9 - the Soyuz MS-18 spacecraft will launch carrying Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky and Pyotr Dubrov and NASA astronaut Mark Vander Hei;

    April 17, NASA’ Kate Rubins and Russian cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov and Sergey Kud-Sverchkov will return to Earth on Soyuz MS-17;

    April 22 - SpaceX Crew-2 mission is scheduled to launch on the Crew Dragon spacecraft Endeavour, NASA astronauts Shane Kimbrough and Megan McArthur, ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet and JAXA astronaut Akihiko Hoshide.

    April 28 - Crew-1 mission ends with a splashdown off the coast of Florida, returning to Earth Hopkins, Walker, NASA astronaut Victor Glover and JAXA astronaut Soichi Noguchi. (That capsule will be refurbished for a SpaceX commercial flight, the Inspiration4 mission, scheduled for no earlier than mid-September.).

    Speaking of Inspiration 4, anyone get their patch yet?
