Some of the new ones are very, very quiet. I wouldn't replace mine solely because it's getting a little noisy except for the noise level increasing is pump being louder. To me, that's generally a sign that it's on it's way out. I’m just waiting for my pump to give up the ghost. Also, my kids stood in the cover when it was down and bent it pretty bad so I have that going for me also...

Call a realtor and find out what it can go for unfinished - you might be surprised. I was even considering selling ours since we want to move in a few years and just rent in the meantime. But, we didn't for several reasons. But yeah I'd say at least talk to some people and find out - get the $$$ and make the work someone else's problem.

Mine is a Maytag that the previous owners put in and it's nearly silent. Only thing I hate is they bought white appliances. Apparently the extra $50-$100 for stainless steel or even black was too much. So, I have these newish appliances that look like they're from 1995.

Ours does the little light thing too. It's noticeable for noise but you do have to pay attention for it, which is nice I guess - but you could also just set it with a 3 hour timer before you go to bed and then it runs at 2AM and noise doesn't matter. If it's loud enough to wake you up or keep you up, then there's a problem with the dishwasher - even older ones.

Our old whirlpool washer which was ~14 years old when we replaced was so loud you had to crank the tv up in the living room if the dishwasher was running in the kitchen. With the bosch you can hear it very slightly when it starts up the cycle, but once it's going it's nearly silent.

All the towels are grays, tans, browns too so that's probably why I haven't run into that. I guess I'm an earth tones kind of person!

The only laundry I ruined was in the last house. Dark gray stuff would often turn slightly orange or purple. I'm convinced that the chlorine in the town water was doing it. Turning on a hot shower made the bathroom smell like a swimming pool.

Just did the maths. My road trip was 7366 miles. 13 days. So I averaged 566 miles a day.

I don't recommend it. It was a fun trip, glad I did it, future road trips will be planning less miles per day. Ended up cutting out Jacksonville - made it out to Pensacola and kipped up at a lake a bit north of there for the night then straight shot to DC the next day, stayed up in the mountains in Shenandoah. Otherwise I stayed course on my plans, but didn't get enough time to stop and smell the roses. Didn't need a lot, but still wanted a bit more.

This method seems unlikely to survive the next 15 years :notsure:

Yeah, brand new beach towel that went in with our standard white bathroom towels Personally I'd prefer darker colors but the GF wanted white so we compromised and got white.

Its on the radar. But, I cannot do anything for another year.
Worst is, not knowing if we are staying up here, or going.
If we stay, I want to keep the house.
If we go... its gone. Wont rent anything up here.

I road trip between here and Corpus a bit. 2000miles each way. I do it in 2 days.

But, I want to do the trip by bike at least once. And take my time, on a route of my choosing....

    Maybe one day....

I could do it in 3 days hammer down. I did Pensacola to Shenandoah in a day that wasn’t too bad. But if I wanted to enjoy the route rather than ass in seat for 1k miles a day I’d do less next time. Fortunately my only other “holy shit” miles trip is Canada up to tuktayuktuk otherwise all my other trips are a loooot smaller and shorter.

All of those are worthless now that I have fiber. Need to take them down. Might run wire down the conduits tho for my generator that’s coming, could save me some money digging.

I separate, wash, dry, fold/hang and put away all the laundry in my house. That's my job

Well, wouldn't that make them yours then?

I wonder if my wife has a diabolical plan to do that as well. A lot of my favorite and comfy shirts end up getting shrunk in the wash.... mysteriously, it’s only the really comfy ones, the scratchy ones are fine.
