OK, I hate to be too nit-picky, but that's not right. You're describing the 'median'-that is that point where 50% of the people are below, and 50% are above that point (unless the distribution follows a perfect bell-shaped curve). Depending on the distribution of values, there may be more people above or below the 'average'. Let's say 4 people have an IQ of 25, one has an IQ of 35, and one has an IQ of 135. The average is 45, and only 1 person is above that value. The average can be swayed by outliers (like the 135) on either side of it. The median always stays the same, in this case it's 25 (3 at/below this value, 3 at/above this value, regardless of whether the top value is 55, 65 or 1,000,000,000,000,000).

Sorry if you already mentioned this, but have you removed the brake drum and looked at the shoes or hardware? I’ve had similar issues in the past that ended up being a build up of sand and fine rocks from wheeling in the mud all the time. It could be that easy, or a broken shoe, or spring.

Yep, took a look at all the hardware and cleaned it up with brake cleaner. Seemed to do well for a day until it acted up again.

Put the back of the truck on jack stands, wheels off the ground.
Have someone standing aside the truck.
Start it, put in gear, (go easy) a little gas, add brakes.
    Still noise?
    Where?
    If necessary, remove wheel.
    Start truck and repeat process.

Sorry, I didn't READ your whole response.

That's a lot of threaded holes, I can see why it's so much. Buy a sheet of aluminum, some drill bits and taps and get to work? Probably take all damn day

I would assume the company that makes this doesnt have a guy with a ruler and a drill sitting in a warehouse producing these. Can you tap holes with a CNC? But then you would have to program the CNC with a CAD drawing that I don't have, so never mind I guess.

you can tap with a CNC mill. They probably send the specs to the machine shop and they’ll make hundreds of them, the more you have made, the less each of them will cost.

For a one off 250 does not sound bad. You have cost of material and labor rates for the shops I've worked in range from 80-100 dollars an hour.
