Usually you can find it on Amazon. Throwing it in the freezer for a while before you install it makes it less of a mess to work with.

Maybe I should have said repaint... same color but repainted most of the cab and roofs to repair clear coat fail and rust around windshield.

How much did that set you back?

 

I've seen guys go buy cheap shower curtain liners and trace out the shape and just cut the moisture barriers out of that. That's what I'm planning on doing when doing my speakers. Your plastic is in one piece so it'll be easy to trace out, mines shredded pretty bad

 

I am looking to repair some dings and repaint my truck as well. Curious about cost....

 

I'll have to keep that in mind. Do you happen to remember the approximate time span between the leaks? Just wondering how long I have lol

Just looking for some perspective, but all good if you’re keeping it under your hat.

What I need/have is a different animal

I currently have a donor hood, fenders, bed/tailgate that need to be taken down to metal and resealed and primed because there’s rust under the paint and a ton of little raised bubbles.

I had it in my mind to do Interlux Brightside, but for the work I’d rather just get the truck shot, but I’m sure I’m looking at $6k minimum, which at that point isn’t worth it. I might as well keeping shopping Craigslist for a donor with a clean body. Good luck with that.

The body on mine is falling apart and pretty rough. I replaced my core support about a decade ago but it’s cracking at the front mounts and the aprons are wonky from a wreck. I bought the truck with a rebuilt title from a coworker of mine, and there were some “condition” issues with the repair work.

I’d keep the frame because it’s reinforced front and rear, modified for my bumper, suspension and sliders.

Either that or I sell the truck and get a 2nd gen and have to start over with a new build which after 15 years with this truck I really don’t want to do, or go all out and buy a Chevy Bison diesel.

 

Replaced my fuel pump. Big thanks to @Digiratus for his writeup with picks on the high pressure line!

Also replaced the motor mounts with a set from @Bonzen. They are extremely well built!

Didn't think that I really needed to replace them but found out that my driver side mount was split pretty good. Glad that was caught before things got worse!

Definitely tightened up the throttle response

Thanks for the tips. I hadn’t considered getting it out in one piece. I’m planning to apply the tape and use an oversized piece while I apply the barrier, then trim it with a sharp razor blade.

She’ll be 25 in July. I’m gonna give her a major overhaul and an obvious deep cleaning, but I proudly put every speck of dust in there and had a lot of fun doing it.

 

Overtaxed the engine for 11,000 pulling a travel trailer, sprung a head gasket leak into Cyl3, terrible compression on half the cylinders.
