Are you able to bounce your rear end if you jump up and down in the bed? I would add some weight if not.

FWIW, I have 700 pound kings with RR and no adjuster knob up front, and OME/Dakar with extra leaf in rear with adjusters. My front has 2" of down travel but I have the same harshness you describe. I have a crap ton of weight and maybe half an inch of preload (like 5 threads) up front. My rear is fine till I'm fully loaded, then I wish my rear was stiffer!

I will check when I get home but downtravel isnt the issue. I dont have the preload set high. Its set about 1-1.5 inch lift over stock.

Any coilover or rear leaf pack that is adding lift to your truck and the way you drive is never give you a plush ride. The two just don’t go together.

So essentially your setup is the same as mine but you have 700lb front coils and a bunch of weight. I think most people are happy with a stiffer ride but I'm after a little softer. Are you looking to get softer springs?

    IMO this is incorrect.

I have 2.5 Kings with no clickers up front, 650lbs springs, and Dakar HD + AAL in the back with 12" smoothies with clickers, and my ride is super plush. Way better than stock.

I guess I'm pretty happy with it all, but the down travel clunking/jarring sound over small potholes is annoying... I feel it tops out too fast. My rebound is faster than my compression I think. You can change the unternal fittings inside on some shocks (maybe on king 2.5RR?) but that's over my head.

I was going to replace LCA bushings and tighten camber/caster alignment bolts, and check torque on everything before taking it anywhere

www.nationalspringinc will build you a custom set of leafs, install 650lb coils and lower the preload to the top and you will feel like your driving a boat.

    Good luck with your truck.

I will probably be swapping out my front coils real soon. If you want a set of 600lb coils lmk.

IMO 600 is great for no weight - ie skid plates, bumpers, etc.

You probably just need to lower the preload and then go on a test drive

Preload is set to how King ships them from factory. I believe it is 1 or 1.5 inch lift over stock. I will double check downtravel when I get home but Im almost positive that I should have plenty

lots of people confuse preload with ride height, including me. Can you post a picture of your shock installed in your truck? that way we can better advise on what your next steps are

Ya, agreed... this setup is absolutely killer in almost all situations, and with no sway bar it's a dream off road. My only issue is the small potholes!

I think I'd compress the 600s flat if they were on my truck

I've even heard guys say 650 should be the factory spring rate, lol. To my knowledge, factory spring rate is like 550 or something wimpy like that.

OP, just a heads up... 1" of threads showing does not equal 1" of lift... more like 3"

Edit: looks like OP has humble preload from factory, it's not cranked to hell like some guys do

700 were too stiff for me, and I knew 600 was too low for my application. 650 is great, but i need to revalve soon for bypasses too

When I spoke to King, they stated their 2.5s get sent out to give about 1-1.5 inch lift on stock setups. I havent touched the preload on these as they gave me the lift I wanted.
