I felt like a lottery winner when I found Stitch ... MT in the color I wanted on the lot.

 

Unwilling to pay 5k over msrp, but willing to travel to a 1000mile radius led me no where after 6 months it was easier to get one that was on a lot. A manual TRD pro in a particular color is a unicorn. It’s tougher to get than a Ferrari. Unless of course you’re willing to pay over sticker

 

Because I have torrette syndrome where I have jerking movements. The uncontrolled stomping of the gas pedal causes minimal reaction compared to an auto.

Every vehicle I've ever owned has been a manual transmission, but I'm currently waiting for my AUTOMATIC Tacoma and I cannot wait to be lounging while driving. The "fun" of a manual transmission goes away the moment traffic builds up and living in the SF area, there is no getting away from traffic. When I'm driving someone else's A/T car, I find myself enjoying the experience far more. I can recline the seat further back and be in a far more relaxed state than having to shift every 5 seconds.

A huge downside of driving M/T is injury. I personally have a very active lifestyle and risky hobbies which tend to lead to injury. Driving a M/T with your shifting hand in a cast for 6 months is not the business. Having to clutch with destroyed, cramping legs after a long day of running isn't that fun. Out for a motorcycle ride and you break down or crash? Can't just call a friend or family member to drive your truck over to you because they don't know how to drive a manual.

With that said, I'd be lying if I wasn't concerned about regretting my decision to go A/T down the line. I'd like one of each please.

 

I find it funny you guys keep saying how a millennial will never steal your truck due to having to shift. What do you think those kids are driving? All the kids I know have manual Toyota’s, Mazda’s cause they are cheap and reliable. I’d hazard a guess that there are just as many useless drivers in every age bracket.

Really? I used to drive 110 downtown and as anyone who knows downtown LA, during rush hour you are on stuck those steep onramps for a while.

I did it in E36 M3, E46 M3, E90 M3, S4 Avant, STI, Evo, STI again, E39 M5, 996 Turbo, 996 GT2, CTSV wagon, E30 325, etc over a decade and collectively miles in the couple hundred K.

It was never a problem, second nature really. And I loved doing the roll back to get people to not creep up so close heh.

Do auto people really think all you do in a manual in traffic is shifting 5000 times a minute?

Oh and if you can drive a manual properly, you don't even need e Brake. Just do a quick clutch take up, no biggie.

 

Anyone of those kids in your neighborhood happen to have a 2014 Toyota Tacoma, 4-cyl, 2wd, reg cab, manuel transmission ? Doesn't matter what color. I got cash and willing to travel.......

I may be missing one or two.

 

No, Tacoma’s are priced crazy around here. My daughter is big into mountain biking and it’s pretty much the official vehicle for outdoor sports but you can’t find a good condition one for cheap anymore.

 

The CVT on our 08 Prius went over 300k with just a couple of fluid changes. Plus when it was new it was hertz rental car. I’m sure it was driven gently.

 

Every time I drive my stick, I fall in love with it all over again. The new non clutch pdk trans is faster shifting than I am, but I still prefer the manual in my car

 

That looks like a genuine 996 GT3 or a Turbo with a wing. JEALOUS.

 

close, my 996 turbo, with GT2 rear decklid. I have a high hp clutch in it which has a very short engagement area, and requires a lot of skill not to stall. Most can't drive it without stalling it, lol.

 

Beautiful. I love the 996. Been eyeing a few C2’s and a targa around my area for a while now, thinking about pulling the trigger as long as the IMS issues are sorted on them. Must be manual too obviously.

 

Yeah, you definitely don't want Chicktronic (porsches automatic, lol)

 

When you're learning, towing a trailer, or parallel parking. Once you get familiar with the clutch you will hardly roll back at all.
