You could measure Center of hub to fender to see how much lift you have.
    Stock is 20 inches.
Looks minimal, could get accutune to valve them softer.

Not to hijack, but how much weight do you have over the 650s? I have 9.5k winch, steel rope, ARB, full armor, and big battery up front, and usually 4 gallons of fuel, 4 of water, tracks, a GF and dog.

Rear's just as bad with the camper and gear

I have a 10k winch with synthetic line, steel full hybrid bumper, full steel armor/sliders, high clearance rear with swingout. Used to have a full bed rack and rtt, but i have a GFC on order, so the rear is lighter at the moment with nothing, but my clickers in the rear take care of that.

Hmmmmmm, 650s sounding really good now with your input. Figured I was fat enough up front for 700s. I'm happy I have them on the whoops and jumps though

Nice doggo, needs a desert or Sierra trip soon! I may run them if I can't dial the 700s in. Thanks man!

so you have around 2.5 inch lift in the front and 2 inch in the rear. Have you changed your stock bump stops? The Toyota ones are like rock compared to Wheelers superbumps or Durobumps.

Yes, Durobumps on the front and rear. The rear durobumps hit hella hard on impact. Will be changing them for superbumps soon

Interesting, I thought the durobumps were softer than that.

Yeah I thought so as well. Fronts feel great just the rear durobumps feel like bricks.

Also, @fatfurious2 and @kylehorvath, Upon jacking the front end up from the front jack point, Im able to get over 2.5 inchs of downtravel. So much downtravel that any more and I will need aftermarket UCAs. Im sure uptravel is equally good. So therein my issue seems to be spring rate. Im going to see if I can source some 500lb eibach coils. Or maybe 550. I believe they are 14in springs but im gonna confirm with accutune tomorrow.

As far as rear, Im considering the Icon RXT leaf pack. Ill prob sell the dakars as they are too much for me. Unless someone else chimes in, this is what I've gathered from everyones help so far.

There should be some numbers printed on the springs. If there is a 14, that will tell you if they are 14in, and if there is 600, then thats the rate. Something like 3.0060014

Ive never heard of going that low of a spring rate on Kings. But its your truck, do what you want to it. Maybe @AccuTune Offroad can chime in with what they actually did

I know that sounds pretty low. Maybe 550lbs would be better. I dont wheel it but its driven over some shit roads here. Also thanks for that tip of checking the print on the springs, didnt even think they had the length printed. They are in fact 14in 600lbs34532.jpg

Out of curiosity what tire pressure are you running and what load range are the tires.

You may be over inflated also load range d or e are really stiff and you’ll feel more of the road imperfections compared to load C.

@Elitekilla117, don't mind the guys sh*tting on you. You're being honest about your use case and performance expectations. Better than treating truck accessories as some sort of fashion statement.

I was in a similar situation a few months back. My Dobinsons 730 lb (!) front coils were pretty brutal on-road. Granted, I do have significant added front-end weight in the form of an ARB bumper. No feedback on off-road ride quality because that's not something I do.

The harshness when hitting potholes and the like eventually became less noticeable. Whether that's due to the coils breaking in a bit or me just getting used to it, it's tough to say. I didn't end up with the "floaty" minivan-like ride quality I wanted on road, but that's honestly okay. The stiff front coils have their own benefits, namely removing basically all nose dive during heavy braking.

100% my tires arent helping. They are 6ply "C" rated and inflated to about 45psi. Before anyone chimes in on tires, the ride was marginally better on my P rated tires. I have come to terms on LT tires riding stiffer. My issue is past that onto suspension. Also they are inflated to Toyo's recommendations directly from a rep who explained that when going from a P to LT tire of the same size, your PSIs generally increase.

Hate to break it to ya but dayum that sounds high for not having a load or armor. I’ve got load range E and run 37 front 35 rear it’s fairly smooth.
I’d play with the psi some to start or I’ll take them kings off your hands.:D

Its all good. Im used to forums lol. Some members can really crap all over things but for the most part I've seen more help than hate. I know im in a very small niche of daily driven, never offroaded Tacomas. (I have a 4runner for offroading). I've done so much research on here for years before buying anything that I thought I had a good bead on things until I started actually spending money on it. But Im fairly new to lifts and suspension in general so I'm still learning.

As far as the stiffness, yeah its honestly not terrible and has its benefits. On full compression it dampens real nice actually. It also makes cornering at 35 look stable. But its speedbumps and smaller potholes or divets in the road that start to get real old. It just beats up my back and after a long ass day at work, I dont need that. I know that what I'm after is doable on a mid-travel setup, Im just trying to figure out how to get there. And driving that damn 3rd gen Taco made me pissed that it rode as well as it did.....

Lol noo I like my Kings. Plus they have like a 30 week leadtime right now so these things are a rarity :D

I had my LT Toyo tires at about 33psi but the performance was absolutely terrible in wet weather. So I called Toyo out of curiosity and discussed a few things. They told me that since I was going from a P rated to LT tire, more PSI is actually required in order to maintain the same load. She had a whole conversion done and when everything was figured out, she stated that ~45psi was needed. Anything less and its underinflated technically. My tires are fairly newish, and even when I had P tires at 32PSI, it was still a little jarring over speedbumps and such. So Im led to think its something else.
