This is my mother's birthday who passed away 15 years ago and can still remember the April fools stunts me and my brother would try to fool her with...HAPPY "70th" BIRTHDAY MOM!!!

Can’t remember exactly when he died but my father would have been 87 today. Me and my sisters did the same thing but started to run out of ideas after awhile

 

My Grandmother passed away on April 1st. She always loved a good joke, and our family was always pulling April 1st jokes.

Mom came into our room early in the morning, to tell us Nana had passed away. We looked at her and said, "that's not funny". Oops, it was my grandmother's last joke. She lived to be 88 years old, feisty as ever. Still lived in her own home, played bridge daily. 1883-1971 Born and raised in San Francisco, great details of the 1906 Earthquake "If it was Gods wrath why did all the Breweries and Distillers survive the fire?" hint: Volunteer Irish Firefighters were told free beer and whiskey if they come (true story lost to time).

Her other one (took me years to figure out). "One more facelift and she will be wearing a goatee!" Followed by Mom saying "Mother!" She was 20 years older than Bea Arthur, but Bea's role model! Funniest lady, but sharper than a tack. Never lost her sense of humor. Daily bridge game and a shot Bushmills!

One favorite: Her Doctor wanted a urine sample. That was something ladies did at home, so she figured the cleanest bottle she had was a whiskey bottle to transport the sample in. Stopped in the dry cleaners to drop off a few items, came back out and someone stole her sample! She would laugh hysterically at that one.

RIP Nana, you picked a hell of a day to go out on. Your humor is always appreciated.

My birthday is today and it was a cruel, unfortunate coincidence growing up. On more than one occasion my parents set up big birthday parties for me and no one showed up because it's obviously an April fools joke right?
