    I don't disagree with that.

From all indications, 120's will be getting a nerf in the near future. I much prefer 140's but 120's are just too competitive right now. Dead Man's Tale is a cool gun I'll admit that and I'm glad they brought it into the game. The issue is (for me), I just can't find a use for it over other guns that are much more in the meta be it PvP or PvE. It's fun to play around with but I think once 120's get their nerf, 140's will be king. Dead Man's Tale is just a niech gun that doesn't really fit into a category that I can really find a compelling use for it.
The thing with 120's right now is just the stupid range. If you watched the video above you hear me talking about how I got destroyed using The Messenger Pulse Rifle the night before in our private matches. It just can't compete. It does well in 6's but in a 1v1 situation where a 120 can reach out to Pulse Rifle range? There is no use in using it right now. Every weekend in Trials (when it isn't cancelled) we never run up against anyone using anything other than a Hand Cannon / Sniper / Shotgun. That's the meta now and unless you play the meta you will not go to the Lighthouse. In that video above I was using the Steady Hand and it's a really good Hand Cannon. Unfortunately it doesn't have a damage dealing perk after a kill so it will aways be a three tap. But it still puts in work. The Igneous Hammer I have also doesn't have a damage dealing perk after a kill and it will also always be a three tap. But the range on it is so stupid. So I switch back and forth between Igneous Hammer / Chaperone / Eye of Sol or Steady Hand / Adored / Felwinters Lie. Those are my loadouts no matter what when I go into Trials or regular Crucible.

They finally reigned in the Stasis subclass. I'm actually not upset even though the nerfs to Stasis really impacted the Hunter hard. Stasis was OP and almost downright unfair. With the changes to Stasis, the Duskfield Grenade doesn't have the "pull" radius it once did and it doesn't freeze someone almost immediately after impact. It sill slows and pulls people out of cover but it's not nearly as obtrusive as it used to be. Withering Blade no longer insta-freezes on a double hit or tracks targets which was probably the most unfair advantage that the Hunter Stasis subclass had. Now you almost have to be aiming Withering Blade otherwise it won't track after 6 meters (IIRC). After that distance it no longer tracks a target and if you get a hit with it, it's because you either aimed it very well or you got lucky. I'm actually glad for the nerfs as it brings the Light based subclasses back into the picture. Before the nerfs, if you weren't running Stasis? You were putting yourself at a disadvantage.

Below are a couple of matches we played last night. You can definitely see the difference with the Hunter Stasis subclass.

How to turn a loss into a win. Don't ever get tilted no matter what. That will lose you the match every time.

This was a close match but sadly, we don't always win.

I sent the top player a "GG" because he had a really good game. Ended up making a friend in the process. This is why it pays to give a compliment even though it can be hyper competitive at times. Played some games with him later on and he's a really cool dude and he plays well.

Thank God for the Stasis nerfs.. I'm not that great of a pvp player as is, but with stasis.. man, it was tough. I'd get my 3 games in for my pinnacle and gtfo.

I understand. Stasis was shipped WAY over powered. Now it's been brought in line with the other subclasses so at least the Light based subclasses are viable once again. Now everything feels more balanced. I get why Bungie shipped Stasis as OP because it was a new subclass and they wanted people to use it. But it broke Crucible. It slowed the games down so much that it was just obtrusive. Now it feels just about right.

I honestly miss the D1 feel of Crucible. You could be competitive with many different weapons there. If your not playing the meta (or Mountaintop *eyeroll*) now.. you're at a disadvantage.

D1 went through meta changes quite often. I don't know if we just forget because it's been so long ago or what? But if you weren't using Hawkmoon / Eyasluna / Palindrome and a Party Crasher / Icebreaker (after the special ammo nerf) etc... you were at a severe disadvantage. Shit... right after I got the Mythoclast it was so unfair it was stupid. That lasted for about a month before they nerfed the shit out of that gun. It needed a nerf and they took a hammer to it. But it was fun while it lasted since not many had a Mythoclast since the drop rate was very low. But you could go in and dominate a match if you had one.

You may be right.. I may just be fondly remembering the good times of D1. But to me, it didn't seem like the meta was so.. narrow. Only this gun w/ this "god roll" etc. Hawkmoon, Mida, Thorn were regulars for me that I did fairly well with. I used to call Iron Banner "Game of Thorns", cause that's every single person was using at the time.

Mythoclast was awful when it first came out.. it took me a little while to get one to drop from VoG.

Yeah, Mythoclast was so stupid it was fun. But it was so unfair. I got lucky and got it to drop my first run through VoG. It was with a PUG and they were all pissed when it dropped for me. That was before the100.io was created and you had to use LFG websites to catch a run through the raid. I got carried through VoG the first time and it was the most miserable experience I've ever had in a video game. No help at all really though any part and I had never been through the raid so I was fucking lost. They ended up 5 manning Atheon since I was blind the entire time because they didn't explain the mechanics to me. They killed him and the Vex dropped for me. They were pissed.

As far as the meta goes? I honestly think right now is the best that D2 Crucible has ever been. Yeah, you still should use a 120 Hand Cannon but you certainly don't have to. In that second video we just didn't play that map very well and we were just too lazy in the way we positioned ourselves. I made some really stupid mistakes in that game but... it happens. I'm surprised we were as close as we were. They should have trounced us.

That's funny.. the most miserable experience I've had in a video game came after using the100.io. Me and a buddy were wanting to run Kings Fall, me for my first time. We joined a 100 group, told them I was learning the raid. Had some guy the entire raid call me out for every little thing wrong that I did..I couldn't learn what to do cause he wouldn't shut up telling me how wrong I was. We got to Oryx, but couldn't beat him. I never did finish that raid. Pretty sure I developed some anxiety for joining randoms thanks to that jerk..

After the100.io was created I joined a very small group and ended up creating the clan that is still going strong after almost 7 years. We ended up with a very good core group of players and we played all the raids and learned them blind. Then we would sherpa others that wanted to go through the raids so there was no pressure. After that negative experience with the LFG PUG that I ran with, I swore I wouldn't treat players like that, that just wanted to learn the raids. We have a lot of fun running them (although I hate the Deep Stone Crypt) and failing was almost as fun as completing them. In fact, I don't really know how we ever got anything done because we would try to kill each other off in the strangest ways possible. If someone went down the rule in our clan is you must go and teabag that person lol.

Here is a couple of raid fails. They are always funny

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WaJRPLrouM

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H337fENiC7I

And when things go right. We had VoG, Kings Fall, and WotM down on each Challenge mode each run.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5Ejtm6nF9k

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVYVGJvkVoE

This is probably the best video of Challenge mode for Oryx. Detonating all the bombs at once for Challenge mode. I hyperlapsed it to make a 15 min fight into a 6:45 sec video. But you can see how we completed it and just fucked around while doing it.

GM this week is rough. I haven't gotten past the tank room yet. I need one stupid Valus to randomly spawn in there as well to get the Chosen title done.

So we dropped to master cause its still 2x reward and i run the vanguard mod for drops.
3 palis on 2 runs between the hunter/warlock.
I think warlock shadebinder with the turret is the strat for slowing these assholes on gm. That little ive turret does work!

Anyways i got 2 really good rolls. Subsistence/rampage and the curated Outlaw/rampage

Shadebinder is a good option. I haven't tried it "yet" but the best strats I've seen revolve around playing defense rather than offence. I can see this being the hardest GM Nightfall of them all. But I've seen some good strats and the Shadebinder with the turret is definitely mentioned quite a lot. Finally... a use for the turret.
