opinion on shocks to get w/ 3" lift

    hey all, i have a three inch spacer lift with the stock trd bilsteins in the front and ranchos on the back, any suggestions on what to upgrade the shocks to that would work with the lift? my budget is around $700

    People have been haveing good results with the Bilstien 5100's. The front can be adjusted, so You can use them without your spacers (though they both preload the spring to achieve lift). Down South Motorsports has the best price for them.

    I had a '99 Xtra Cab PreRunner SR5 V6
    Chris, he's already got the 3" spacer up front, I don't think it would be wise to use the 5100 up front with that. I would go with the Bilstein HDs on all corners.

    Which is why I said they can be used with out the spacers. :) Personally, the 5100's are valved for the compressed rate of the stock springs (5100 set to 2.5" and NO spacer), whereas the HD's are not.

    thanks for the speedy replies, yes it's for both front and rear, didn't really want to go with the 5100s since you can't use them w/ a spacer and you only get 2.5" out of them and i don't want to start loosing height. my main concern is to not loosen my truck up too much because i love the way it corners with almost no body roll, but it's stupidly rough on the back roads.

    You can use the 5100's with the spacer lift if they are kept at their stock height setting.
