I stake mine if I can. However the Magpul QD end plates seem to be a harder coating and/or metal and are difficult to stake. I prefer the BCM QD end plates but for some reason no one around me carries them.

I have one of these that came on a seekins lower I bought. Seems to work fine but then again I don't stake my castle nuts and have never had an issue on those either.

If it was from a lesser company I’d just skip it and stake a standard castle but PWS makes good stuff

weaponoutfitters (found in the arf ee) has them on their site for $29.95 not sure what shipping is.
Lanbo's has them for $29.47 plus $7.87 to ship.
I see them on the ee on arf and reddit used for $25-$30 shipped mostly if you want to wait it out and search for one.

I have also shot 100s of 1000s of rounds and never staked the castle. I have used a tiny dab of blue loctite applied with a q tip. Good enough for government work.

Thanks for reminding me! It flew off while I was at the range last time. I have it in my ammo can, forgot to reattach.

Good thing you were able to recover it. Pricey thing to have bounce down range haha.

For real. I didn’t notice it was loose until I heard it rattling on the rail. I was like whyyy is my rifle rattling? Shook it some and it fell off.

I have a Mk114 Mod 2, comes with one from factory. It's fine. I've never had or seen a castle nut failure on any type of castle nut anyways, probably because the vast majority of them are properly torqued with a bit of threadlocker and that's all you need.

But you do you. Put as much JB Weld on that bitch as lets you sleep at night and stake it 360 degrees.

Lol, I've never felt the need to stake one and to be honest probably never will. And I only own the PWS ratcheting one b/c it came on the lower. Its a nice product and all, just probably wouldn't spend the cash on it if I already had a regular castle nut to use.
