Lets just say the garage was the best part about the property, and it was just weird.

The pictures make it out to be more than it was.

    :notsure:

Not my cup of tea, but I am sure someone will love it.

I have developed a habit of checking google street view before even considering physically viewing something.

A lot of the realtors are good at deception in the pictures, and street view seems to tell a better story. You can check different years of street view from 2009-2015 to see if its been maintained as well.

If I'm really into a property I use Google earth, I like to check out the neighborhood, and get analytical on things for no reason.

I on the other hand just plunged myself into the market early, to see what some houses look like.

I dont expect to be purchasing anything any time soon. More getting an idea of what we like and want.

These days by the time you look at Google Street View and Google Earth the place has 20 offers and goes for 100k over asking.

    Morning everyone! :)

    On today's episode of "I made a brand in 5 seconds" : https://gooverland.ca/collections/all

They just flat out used alibaba product imagery for their products, at triple the price. (ok there is a chance they actually went through the process of selecting a quality manufacturer, and product testing but still):spam:

it's the same song and dance with every company selling these things, softshell rtts, and awnings. order a shit ton from china, have them slap your company name on it and then charge people 3x what it costs. most of these "businesses" cease to operate/exist after a few months after they sell all the product and don't want to do it again. quality is another issue too. you get what you pay for with these things.

it is also like that because overlanding/ car camping had exploded the last few years and more so due to the pendemic. Everyone wants a piece of the pie that is the overlanding money sink and they aim to get anything and everything out of you.
As you said; buy it cheap from China with questionable quality, slap your name on it for 5 cents a unit, sell it to suckers for 3x the price.

to be honest, I'd put money towards something like the iKamper Skycamp Mini for $4k before i even look at some knock-off Tepui for $1000. But for the money of an Ikamper, a Go-Fast Camper for $7k.

I could go on and on about these things. I actually lived in a cheap chinese RTT for over a year out west including during the winter. Simply put I would never spent any kind of money on another RTT there are just way too many issues that are just inherent in the designs of them. I ended up selling mine and converting my bed/canopy into a sleeping space and it has worked out a lot better.

I can see the application for some though, sure.

I have yet to develop a full opinion on the subject of the RTT as i've never owned an "actual RTT" but through the use of my HoboRTT i get a pretty good idea for it.

Converted a Cabellas Tent-cot into one is more than enough for my needs. At 50lbs (compared to folding RTTs at 150lbs)

i just need to figure out a storage solution for sleeping bags/ pillows/ sleeping pads.
