When I check the live data the fuel trims are within the +/- 10% but something is definitely leaking because there's a real strong gas smell when I shut the truck off and walk past the hood. However nothing is wet under there when I inspect it

Interesting... I don't believe I have that issue since it's a fresh rebuild on the motor but I'll watch the tailpipe while I'm driving to make sure I don't see any blue

Leaky injector maybe? Does it have a hard time starting back up right after you shut it off?

I've never tried restarting after immediately shutting it off but I have no issue with pulling into a gas station, getting a drink, then starting it again

Speaking of cat converters, I know theft is rampant across the country right now and my area is no exception. I've been worrying about my truck but then it occurred to me that most thieves are probably avoiding old trucks for fear that we all have shitty cats anyway lol.

That's probably a fair assessment. I have noticed it's more new cars that seem to get hit

Mine will randomly take awhile to crank before firing, like maybe 2 or 3 times a month out of daily driving. Twice in 5 years it hasn't wanted to fire up until I let it sit for a few minutes.

I used to fret over it but I've read numerous accounts on TW of that being normal with the 3.4l...sometimes it's just cranky I guess.

Prius are big targets around here, because they have cats but they don't get used much being hybrid and all.

Our neighbor's Prius a couple blocks away got hit and the damn thing sounded like a tractor driving down the street.

A thief down here recently got crushed to death by a Prius he put a floor jack under so he could cut the cats off. Karmic justice is the best

Could something be leaking on the return to tank line? So long as fuel pressure is maintained the engien would run fine, but your gas milage would suck.

Assuming my super basic knowledge of modern fuel injection isn't wrong, anyway.
