Everything is illegal in MA..... So I moved up to NH only to find out it's Live Free or Die... as long as you get a permit.

If it's any consolation....Airbags aren't required in RI, BUT if you do have them, you cannot pass inspection with an airbag light on.

I don't have to do inspection until December but I'll have to put my seat back in for that. Unless I can get into TS and turn off the warning lights  doubt it. Shouldn't be too bad, that's the point was to make it do-able on as much effort as taking a rooftop tent on and off. At least the rears can stay out, don't have to put those in for inspection. And it's only every 2 years, so in theory I may only have to do it once before we move to Austin.

Or I just don't do it. :spy:

So, I posted a few weeks ago saying i might move back here from NM and i knew about the tint laws, but now I’m seeing they have lift limits and spacer laws...no surprise...MA is so safety conscious.

Also gonna have to hope my MA LTC will be valid again once I get a MA driver’s license. Got my NM drivers license in September (which makes my MA ltc useless) and now im already moving back.
Never thought I’d be coming back east, but this pandemic has put the importance of being with family in perspective
I live right on the shoreline too so my truck is gonna turn to dust...hopefully fluid film works well

Only positive is he's gonna be a pirate captain and take over the oceans, hard to find a launch from NM.

@jpereira2 wool wax - it does wonders.

Yeah MA laws are a pain, which is funny because I see so many rust buckets driving around, yet a well maintained lift is illegal. Whatever, same shenanigans in RI. The laws are similar, you get hassled for little stuff that's a pain to fix, then the neighbor's rotted through Chebby gets a sticker. Both states started doing video recording of all inspections though, so I'm sure it's gotten a bit different now. I haven't been in for an inspection since they started doing that.

Likewise! Family being the only thing

I do know NM got hit hard with the plague. I was just out there, cool place, I would consider Albuquerque as a move but we're aiming more for Texas.

Unless you're driving a brodozer or a 6" drop bracket lift you won't have any issues. The formula is width x wheelbase / 2200 per 540 CMR 6.05. A DCSB has a width of 75.2" and a wheelbase of 127.4". Divide that by 2200 and you're at 4.35". That's a ~2" lift and 285s right there. It's hardly something to get your feathers ruffled about.

If you own your truck (not leased or financed, so you have the title), wait for as long as you can to get a state inspection! You will/are in a loophole, where the state won't suspend your registration since you didn't get an inspection (you are not in the state inspection computer system).
My brother has a '16 WRX, and close to 70k miles, and still has not gotten an inspection done, but the state/DMV will never know until he decides to get an inspection.

I mean I wasn’t going to say it but it has crossed my mind - I know a few people who have done the same.
