Cam gears for V6. Add power AND mpg

Totally not worth your money, I don't have experience with them but from what I hear dyno time isn't cheap

 

1. It's worth the $ to have tangible results/proof on a product that theoretically should be positively beneficial. If your doctor said your cholesterol is high, wouldn't science tell you to get labs done before and after the course of treatment? Dyno pulls are the lab tests/panels.

2. I have experience with dyno tests and it was worth it to me to see if the OVT tune added any HP. (And it did)
3. Dyno time here in NorCal is about $120-150 for 3x pulls. I agree that its not cheap but affordability is relative.

Nobody is hating on you @gpdx. Your post earlier had you volunteering to do pre/post-gear dynos. We are encouraging you (at least, I am).

 

What I was saying is it's totally not worth your money just to prove a point to a stranger on the internet trolling this thread. @gpdx was simply offering to be a Guinea pig.

I totally understand paying for dyno time if you made modifications that then require tuning like a turbo, supercharger, stroker kit etc.

I just think it seems silly to more than double the cost of this install just to have a piece of paper confirming I gained 2hp.

 

Y’all over here talking about MPG’s I’m over here talkin horsepower. I get 9mpg when towing and 11.5 when not towing.
But also on 35’s locked from and rear, FJ twin stick, add delete and Currie rock jock 60 axle.

 

Then don’t do it but appreciate those who do and share the results, for science

 

I suppose I could've worded my post better. I'm happy to have my truck be a guinea pig for dyno results. I was hoping someone on here might be connected with a performance shop to get those dyno readings very inexpensively. I don't have the extra $$ to drop on proving a point. A few hundred dollars could go to my ECGS bushing, or some other tangible need. I was trying to be helpful if someone had the hookup to make it happen.

I kinda want to do mine to see where I ended up vs the URD stage 4 N/A kit.

 

Just built my own torque adapter. Screw paying 30 bucks for a 8 dollar fix. I plan on doing a wrench and cheater bar to break it loose but wanted it torqued back correctly

 

I just logged 384.5 g/s @ 5506rpm heading home tonight. That should be ~442hp!! (Maf x 1.15 = ~hp for our trucks). If I revved it up to 6800rpm on a dyno I wonder what numbers it would put up. Still need to upgrade my exhaust too.
Note- the above calculation assumes accurate maf readings which I have very dialed in on my tune.

Called "torque" works with a simple $12 Bluetooth obd2 dongle. Android app

The one I have looks identical to the cheap blue ones here. Mine was ~$12 in price too. This is real time only, no logging, no tuning, but nice to watch things over.

 

I have a nice assortment of “special service tools” like that.

Once I get my roost y pipe. My current set up is definitely a restriction to letting her breathe. Then I'm dyno-ing. Hoping to break 400whp. But we're getting off topic of this cam gear sale thread.
