Hmm can't say exactly. I didn't notice until I took my shifter cover plate back off later down the line and saw it was leaking again. So don't know how long it was leaking for before that.

I would also recommend replacing the shifter bushings while you're in there. https://www.marlincrawler.com/shifter-parts/new-heavy-duty-seat-socket-combo

Anybody know where I can get a new joint? PN: 43040-04010 but it’s like $400 and I don’t feel like doing that. Best option just to get a whole new OEM axle from somewhere? Was about to rebuild the boot on this when I found the bearings basically gone

After rebuilding axles with @drr and @Digiratus a couple weeks ago: OEM for the win and save the spares

One of the tuple(s.i.c) clips/retaining rings was worn down, so in the trash it went.

$400 can buy you a brand new OEM axle, that's nuts.

You can get reman OEM axles through Toyota, word is they stopped doing remans but I found a couple in stock at my local dealer last year.

Or just get a rebuilt OEM axle through CVJ, basically the same thing.

yeah I’m thinking this one is trashed....so I guess I’ll be on the lookout for a new to me OEM axle. I’ll leave the Vatozone special in for now.

I’ll keep an eye out if any used ones come up and snag it

Also I was changing oil when I found this clipped wire....any idea where it goes? Coming from the fuse box, I’ve done the big 3 and bigger alternator upgrades if it relates to those. Tried looking at BamaToy (or whatever his name was) write up but it’s been taken down and can’t find anything on the search

If you look at them for long enough they start shaking around. Nobody seems to have pointed that out yet but stare at one of your posts for like 5 minutes

Also no I'm not on i-90, spoofing my gps location for testing purposes. Works for gmaps, not for back country nav, which is getting to be really annoying
