I have some left over SKC-1 clamps that just require a longer bolt if you have the new rails. Otherwise, check Amazon/google. Might be able to find some that work just as well.

Just ordered! There is a military discount available but you have to call. Then they'll email you a code for 10% off. I got some extra clamps so if the delay still exists, I can hopefully request they send everything else out.

@BigEasy I just placed an order for my AC yesterday. I read some older threads about the 2nd gen softoppers sitting higher then the cab so people were using the 3rd gens instead. Did you order a 3rd gen top or are these updated versions being produced now? Looks a lot cleaner flowing with the cab line.

PXL_20210326_184500050.jpg I couldn't deal with the bare aluminum (I want to keep mine down a majority of the time) so I painted the poles black.

What paint did you use? How many coats? Any clear coat?

I took everything apart (except for rivets), sanded down the aluminum with 600 grit, cleaned it, taped off the male connection ends, the straps and any holes, used self etching primer, and then two layers of spray bed liner. No clear coat (though maybe I should have).

Damn that's not a small amount of work. I hate chrome, but I'm also lazy. Does the topper come partially assembled and have instructions to reassemble should you disassemble into that many pieces?

I took pictures as I took it apart. I teach highschool so it was a project for me to work on during spring break.

Installed mine today. I love it, but has anybody come up with a way of storing their high lift in their bed and still be able to fold it down?IMG_6303.jpg

Might keep working to get the setup dialed in. Maybe pull it back a bit to get a better fit at the tailgate? Also want to add magnets as discussed through this thread for both the front and back flaps. Actually really happy with the distance from the cab, but hoping to get a little better seal at the tailgate. Only good things to say about Softopper quality and customer service!

The versatility is amazing with the soft topper. It's folded forward. We didn't plan this. #costcorun
