The supercharger doesn't void your warranty. A failure that is caused by the supercharger or the work done to install it will not be covered but if the engine drops a valve and eats itself that is still covered, though it might take a bit of a fight.

I get it, but is that with you installing or Toyota? I have a 200K mile Toyota warranty. The supercharger isn't gonna do any harm for at least 50k. If I'm gonna spend 8K for a supercharger installed and only get a 36K warranty, might as well drop a new engine in it that's made for big power. Just the way I see it. getting 300 to wheels is OK but id rather have 400 to wheels without SC.

I did my own install at 48250 miles. So there is no Magnuson 3yr 36k warranty (Dealer install or not) other than the 1 yr parts - regardless of who installs it. Note that the Magnuson Free 3yr/36k Warranty starts from the day the vehicle was put into service and at mile zero. So If your truck was new - like fresh off the lot I'd go with dealer if I could not do it myself. If it was near 18k miles or 2 yrs I would do my own install if I could. For those with a longer than standard warranty - I'm no help because if it shits the bed under normal warranty I certainly would never by their brand again, and if it is over 36k miles you only get the 1yr parts warranty. Following standard maintenance and not being abusive should not make one of these vehicles fail with or without a SC before 100k miles plus. I will get back with you in 52k with non opinionated evidence. Until then enjoy the BOOST!

Another couple notes doing the install:

If you are installing a boost gauge be careful with the brass plug as mine was tighter than a well diggers butt hole and required some surgery to be removed. Also the hose that is installed from the rear of the drivers side valve cover to wards the front is comically bigger in diameter (braided covering + thicker walls) than the factory piece with the directions saying "toss hose and reuse clamps" well the clamps even after bending the sh!t out of them are far from the right size (How much did they save excluding two hose clamps? $0.68 I looked it up).

here’s a quick video. I had an unusual opportunity for a completely empty road. I had to act fast so I didn’t disengage traction control which means first gear is all over the place (watch the boost gauge flopping as the ecu cuts the throttle over and over).

Its come up a few times about the reducer in the bypass line so here are some pics of what you need to remove:

Pull the hose from the by-pass solenoid and inserted into the nipple on the solenoid is the little brass piece

Yank it out and re-install hose on the solenoid.

That's pretty much where I am at. I have the tools and ability to do the work myself and enjoy it, but the truck will be about two months old and probably have 2000 miles on it when I put the s/c so the Magnusson warranty would actually have a pretty decent coverage period.

Nice! Gotta love the power! For the AT it seems like the RPM / fuel cut-off limiter restricts performance - wish they would convert these parts of the Tune along with shifting logic (AT) to .vft final versions along with increasing max speed. Oh Well, .... someday, maybe.

I need to get this thing in my hands and installed. I towed my boat about 300 miles today and this engine is just gutless with a load behind the truck.

Where am I supposed to find the system ID number needed to get the software? The Magnuson manual doesn't specify and the VF Tuner PDF help file shows the system ID number being already filled in on the registration page. I'm starting to think my Surface Pro X that runs a slightly different Windows 10 is somehow not compatible with the VF Tuner program.

Has any official 0-60 times been recorded to get a better idea on the improvement? Just for reference I have been able to get 7-7.3 secs on 93 OVtune

I believe the system id is your surface pro serial #. I put the serial number from the bottom of my laptop. My install was a few months ago and I think that’s what you’re talking about. Unless you’re talking about the id number that was pulled from the ecu?

Not the ECU ID since I haven't even gotten to that point yet. The paperwork Magnuson sent and the help file made it seem like the system ID was somehow self populated when you open the program. If it's as simple as just inputting my computer serial number than I feel like an idiot.

Have you already gotten your Master Key from OV to be able to use the VF Tuner program?

Nope. Is that where the system ID comes from?
