Hey guys. Im selling my civic and had two buyers ask about a DVC report?? Never heard of this. I actually went off on some dude last night because i thought he was a scammer. But now i got another inquiry and im wondering if its a legit thing.

Scam. Don't give any personal info other then the VIN. If they want a CARFAX they can then get it.

I see a few with fuel cans mounted in that location as well. It's always a smart idea to have something extremely flammable beside your exit lol...

 

Never heard of it. VIN is the most you’ll ever provide a buyer. Nothing more is needed.

Scams are sophisticated these days. Fake Money orders and cashiers check looks realistic more than ever these days. Always check route# and verify accounts with banks and credit unions. When in doubt, don’t sell. It is common for scammers to have a super nice friendly kind person as the front person to do the dealings and they get a cut.

 

Scammers that come across as assholes don't really do that well. lol

When I sell I require cash and a signed release of liability slip. I sign over the title and hand the new owner a written receipt. If anyone has a problem with those terms they won't be getting the vehicle.

Better yet make the transition at a bank. Cash no problem. Sketchy money transfers... bank should catch that.

 

I was looking into this. I guess they have a legit looking website when you search for that "form" they are asking for. You put all your information, pay the $25 and you don't ever hear from them again. Now they have your CC info and $25 from you to do whatever they want later.

 

It threw me off only because of the area code (916). But i'm glad i didnt give in. Fucken people man
