This morning my wife asked me what I want for my birthday next week.

    I said I didn't know.

She said something for your Tacoma?

Joke's on her, I already ordered something for the Tacoma.

A net to hopefully keep the bulldog in the backseat when we take her to the dog park. It was a whole $9.

Yes, I know I need to clean the bulldog slobber off of the seats. Sounds like a good day off of work tomorrow job.

Plastic caps that go over the stock ones with tape on it? So that dirt and grit can get between them? For 200 dollars? Hard pass.

New Project: Total Chaos Bed Stiffeners for the 2016-2021 Tacoma

Well, before I put that James Baroud Grand Raid on top - I needed to install the Bed Stiffeners. They arrived today - so did a quick 3-bolt job to get them onto the truck - so I can drill in the following 6 holes on the sides and complete the job tomorrow.
    Chaos_Bed_Stiffners_01.jpg

One thing that really bugged me - was that big white warning sticker on the right where the Chaos Stiffener would go on and partially cover.
It just looks so out of place and annoys me.
    Stiffener_Ugly_Warning_Sticker.jpg

SO... I took it off before I mounted the right hand side.
    Chaos_Bed_Stiffners_03.jpg

    Left side bolted in...
    Chaos_Bed_Stiffners_04.jpg

A quick trip to Ace hardware tomorrow for some black anodized (Grade-8 or higher) hardened bolts and paint the one bolt on the bottom black - and done!

Installed the Redarc Liberty trailer brake controller. Loving the nice, clean look. Hoping to try it out later today.

    Oh man…
Not what I’ve done but what I use a lot. Anyone ever try the amsoil heavy duty metal protectant? Comes in a spray can, dries to a wax consistency. I use the shit out of it on every bolt, screw, anything that I know will get a little rust or corrosion. It works awesome and it doesn’t wash off unless you really want it to. It’s all over every bolt on the bikes also. Dries almost clear so you can’t really tell. Used it on the holes I drilled for my bed stiffeners and sprayed the bolts after they were in. I also spray scrapes and stuff on the undercarriage. Just a cheap little preventative maintenance thing. Figured it might be useful to some

I didn't know the Liberty had a different logo on the control knob, pretty cool. I've only had my Tow Pro Elite out on one test run with a large trailer but it worked like a champ!
