Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
Yeah, but isn't having a few rod tips sticking out of the bed part of looking like a cool fisherman?

BTW, Turning radius is defined by the wheelbase and the maximum steering angle of the steering wheels.
Overall length, only plays in the swing clearance needed.

Which in most scenarios, people who prefer short beds, can't parallel park.

Many drivers have lost the skill to parallel park.

This is why manufacturers are adding a "self-park" feature to their vehicles. So the vehicle has the skill, because the driver does not have the skill.

Soon the driver will be replaced for ALL functions.

An ever growing reality, for many. Not ALL.

Just fits into the 6' box. I have a Catrike 700 (more reclined) that didn't fit in my Highlander, but just clears at a diagonal.

I like having a DCLB but for intense off-road an ACSB rocks. There is a reason for 33 flavors of Tacoma's, get the one the best fits your needs!

Some of my trapping equipment is too long for the 5' bed that is why I purchased the Access cab with the 6' bed. And NO I am not driving around fields with the tailgate down with equipment in the back! NO REGRETS HERE!

Haha, I love this argument. AI will never be able to navigate when the lines aren't visible. Heavy rain, even moderate snow, construction zones, fresh scenes of an accident, side streets in any northern major city (potholes), rural roads, off road, Walmart parking lots. Well, actually that last one might just work. People seem to park however and wherever they want there anyway.

Agreed. There are many issues to a fully autonomous vehicle on public streets.

Haul a 10 foot kayak without a flag... At 6.1 feet, I am just under the 4 foot hanging out the back mark to not need a flag on my kayaks.

A 5' bed instantly becomes a 6'+ with one of these: https://www.amp-research.com/bedxtender-hd-max Found one on Craigslist for half the price. With a Harbor Freight or MaxHaul hitch extender for $65, you can carry all the lumber you want. A ladder rack gives you even more flexibility. If you need a work truck or haul big stuff everyday and have absolutely zero need for rear passengers, that's a different story,

I’ve had my short bed for over two years and have never thought “hey, I wish I had a longer bed”. I have hauled loads many times. :bananadance:

My 5ft fits in the garage, 6ft wouldn't make it.

Bed extenders for both my 12.5ft kayaks.

6ft bed might fit if I took my yaks out of the garage but not happening for now.

I keep my back seat folded down. My dog rides back there. She votes for double cabs :)
