New poll. Why do smoke detector batteries go out when you’re trying to sleep?

Most the time small spiders build webs in detector near the led flash, then when the web moves sets off detector, can air and clean it out when you do battery

I have 8 smoke detectors, 2 of which are combination CO detectors. Because of the layout of my house, it take me 10 minutes to figure out which one is chirping.

Statistically, smoke detectors should go off during the day (give or take awake for 16 hours versus sleeping for 8) but smoke alarms don't care about statistics.

The best part is dragging a ladder into the kids rooms at 2am trying to not wake them up whole the dogs are freaking out.

And who decided this one needed to go here?!?

    20210402_073351.jpg

14 feet up and 4 feet away from the wall makes for a stretch on the extension ladder. A foot or 2 closer to the wall would make a huge difference.

Been talking to about 6 retired guys that meet here in the mornings and drink coffee. Got to hear a lot of the same stories I’ve been hearing for years :D

You need an 8' platform ladder.
