I was the first to turn 21, so I got the liquor run duty. Friends wanted Skyy, but I couldn't find it. I thought maybe it was Skol? They weren't pleased.


OJ was always around. Any vodka works there.


But, on the cheap, it was Boones, $5 desert wines, or anything else that was kinda sweet. Good times.

 

Somewhere around sophmore year I learned I could re-enact John Belushi's animal hoise whiskey chug with a bottle of boones farm. 2 rounds of that in a noght and Id wake up next to some weird shit

 

You're in the NW... so I know you had plenty of cheap ass McCormicks vodka. Ugh... rubbing alcohol mixed with OJ still tastes like rubbing alcohol.

I moved here in 1996 from PA where I grew up. The craft beer just kicked off in my last year.

It was big time Yeungling and whatever cheap liquor that we felt like grabbing. Although there was a time when we were into topshelf kamikazes. Mainly prefunc fun.


My typical prefunc was a bottle of Manischewitz and some Spaghetti-Os.

 

Yeungling may be coming your way. They entered into a deal with Coors to have it brewed in Texas to expand their market. I always have a case of it on hand here at the house. Of course, when I was younger I ascribed to getting a case of the Schlitz.

 

i'll just leave this here.... for those of you who grew up in the 80's this would knock you out and step all over you, then kick you when down. Boy was it fun though.

I've heard and have been keeping any eye out. But, I had not heard of the Coors tie in. I used to like Blue Moon on occasion, but it started tasting off. A bit later, I noticed that they were absorbed by Coors. I used to like just about any from them, but Coors Light, but they seemed to have cheaped out in their expansion? That is worrying about Yeungling.


For me, it was Rolling Rock or Miller.

I dont know if you can still get Tussin. I quit taking cough syrup shortly after I found out how good whiskey and bourbon are neat.

Oh yeah, though. Whiskey, whisky, scotch, and bourbon would be my three desert island disks. With the craft distillery thing in full bloom, sippin' tequila, rum, vodka, and anything else is just great.
