Would a mid travel set up with spindles and a nice coilover be able to handle some small whoops?

Yes. I plan to keep my mod travel for now and do a SUA and maybe some shocks to keep up with the front.

What do you have your coils set to? Mine are at 3" and the ride is bad..if I go spindles I would drop them about 1", does 1" of less preload make a big difference?

Yup. Since I have spindles they are set really low. It matters. I think mine are at a little less than an inch.

It's easily possible. When I first installed my spindles I was at about 7" up front with my 3" rear. Lol. I may have a pic in my build. No matter what size lift though you should probably do the body mount chop with 35's.

I'm running 3.0X18" Radflo triple bypass with Radflo 2.5X4" bumps and no matter how sooper tarded I get I can't bottom it out. Honestly I don't even need the bumps, and I'm set up with 8" of uptravel and 10" down at ride height. It outperforms the front by a long shot even with dual 2.5's and bypass shocks. It's to the point the only way to go faster is weight distribution changes with the powertrain, and I'm avoiding that until the 383 Stroker gets rebuilt and swapped in or I find a new Camaro motor.

With the 7"? Yea. It was too bro for me. In the future I may crank up to 5-6" and put 35's on.

yeah, i thought you were running a 3.0 shock... but thats cause you're hardcore gnar like that. you also have the 50T pack which plays a big part in why you can bottom the rear end out, right? you take out any of the leafs?

No I will check it out thanks. I was going pretty fast too. I get lots of flex with my All Pro leafs. I just hit the bumps hard sometimes

As a rule of thumb, a single 3.0 is equal to two 2.5's, one 2.5=two 2.0's etc. I ended up getting a very good deal (military discount) from Radflo on the rear shocks. I really wanted kings, but I was on a budget and able to get 18" stroke 3.0's with top of the line internals for what 16" 2.5 "performance" series cost, it was a no brainer. I wish I would have went with 3.0's up front too, but it just wasn't in the cards.

I am running the factory 50T, but I had deavers before and it was the same way. Spring rate does play a large part in the equation, but damping force resisting axle movement is a bigger factor. Think of how much oil that is to push around. Look at the class 8's (Stock Full), they all have mondo huge shocks with limited travel and they are suprisingly fast, or that most TT's are now running 4.5" shocks. That's the future of go fast imo. One of my buddies is old school, and he was telling me how much of a moron I was for wasting money on dual 2.5's up front and 3.0's in the rear, until he rode in my truck. He's now rethinking his build, lol.
