Hi-Lift Jack - LocRac accessory

Is anyone using or know of someone that is using this product for their hi-lift jack as opposed to using the 4XRAC mounting accessory?

The only differences I can spot between the 2 products would be that LocRac accessory is specificly made for mounting in truck beds, and it actually allows you to lock up the jack while still using use the jack protector (http://www.hi-lift.com/accessories/jack-protector.html) to cover the entire jack.

The 4XRAC can be mounted anywhere, but only allows you to use the jack cover (http://www.hi-lift.com/accessories/jack-cover.html), which only covers the jack mechanics and can still accumulate moisture.

I'm interested in getting a Hi-Lift for my truck and it looks to me that the LocRac is the better option of the two. If anyone knows more info on this product please share. Thanks

 

I'm looking at a set of these from ATO. They are designed to use with our factory c-channel bed rail systems.

Yea they are beefy, i have seen them in person, they look good too!!

 

thats a pretty nice option!

but I think the only way you would be able to use the jack protector with that product would be to cut holes in it to have access to the mounting bolts. that would pretty much defy the point of the jack protector since water could then get to it.

i want to use the jack protector to help prolong the life of the jack mechanics. the LocRac would also be a sliightly cheaper option. only downside is drilling is required.

 

Yeah thats what I dont want to do is drill. I'd rather spend the extra money and get a system that you can take on and off, adjust up and down the bed, and use on either side. With ATO's, you can do just that.

 

yea i here ya. the removability and adjustability is an awesome advantage. but it looks like you may have that shell protecting it from the weather on the back of yours

 

I actually dont even use my tonneou cover that much anymore. Right now I have my Inno rack with my Thule snowboard/ski attachments on it and when the weather is warm, I carry my dirt bike around when I go ride. I usually only put on my cover on road trips.

 

This guy has a cover on his high-lift that only covers the important part, and made the ATO mount work.

No I dont yet. Its been sitting in one of my spare rooms for a while now. Thats why I need to look at getting some brackets for it. I already have some 4xrac brackets but the more I thought about it, I dont want to drill into my bed anywhere.

 

I dont have one, but im just trying to help you get a better quality product for your money, and ATO makes a good product, and it appears that this cover on this guys probably works to protect his high lift.

 

yea thats the jack cover i had a link to in my OP. their website said it somewhat protects the mechanics, but moisture can still get in. that is still an option though. i would just have to check up on it from time to time and clean up any moisture in there that may accumulate.

 

I bought the loc rack by mistake. It won't work if you are mounting it in the bed because it won't push it out far enough.

 

really?? that sucks. thought thats what it was made for.

 

Live and learn. It was a relatively cheap mistake. I made use of the cheap lock it came with though.


On second thought, I didn't try it on the rail. It's possible that the rail sticks out enough. I mounted it to my bedbox.

 

if you try remounting it let me know how it fits.

 

I'll try it tomorrow and let you know. Do you know the 4xrac has a hole drilled into it for a small lock?

 

The loc rac won't work. Look at the pic Brian posted with the ATO rack. It's bent out to clear the lip mid bedside. The loc rack is flush. Also the locking design on both the loc rac and 4xrac are the same. A hole through the threads.
