Just joined here since I've been lurking around learning about the Tacomas! I'm looking to buy a new one and like the Cement color TRD off road with 6 speed manual trans. I thought I was gonna have to order one but just called a local dealer and they have on in the NY port set for delivery soon. It's Cement, 6 speed man, Predator steps, blackout package, LED lights/fog lights and a few other things for 38750.

That doesn't seem like too bad of a deal with the options. My only concern is it comes with a roof rack! I'm not sure I'd like that so might have to pass. Looking for opinions on the factory Toyota roof rack and would appreciate some pics if anyone has one!

Thanks, and looking forward to more things in this forum :)

    Factory rack is meh...
I wouldnt miss the chance to get the truck you want because of the rack... you can take that off if you want, there's plenty of people that will happily trade their non-rack weather strips in exchange for your rack/strips

I wouldn't pass on it just because of the roof rack. I actually like the factory rack (but I don't use it much anyways).

Custom sliders (1.75" HREW tube w/ 3/16" base plates). Custom front bumper and high clearance rear bumper (1/4" steel plate, 1.75" tube.) Apex 5500 winch w/synthetic line (36lbs) and required accessories for an underpowered winch (snatch blocks and extra line.) Tekonsha P3 brake controller, remote start, any-time-backup camera w/ front facing camera, Leer 100R shell (w/e-track single slot tie-down mounts for removable Yakima EasyTop.) Cat shields by CaliRaised. Husky liners, window tint, heated seat (passenger only.) Relentless bed rail brackets with QuickFists (shovel/axe/fire extinguisher.) Hondo Garage Un-holey vent mount. Anytime rear with front facing camera. Billet front seat risers. Viair 88p. 265/75r16 Goodyear Ultra-terrain tires.
Check around on how easy/difficult it is to get the Tacoma paint, transmission and packages that you want. I wouldn't pass on a truck just due to the absence or existence of an easily replaced roof rack. You can probably trade it to someone for their rubber strip that replaces the void where the roof rack installs.

Edit: Hah.. apparently a couple people replied quicker and beat me to the punch.

At that price i would assume it doesn't have the Advanced tech package and the prem off road package. Here in Cali that would end up at 48k. Passing on the Prem off road package seems fine because there are better after market parts available, but passing on the Advanced Tech package would be a nogo for me.

LED headlights is the advanced tech package (unless I'm mistaken).

I thought it was the parking assist, connect and stuff like that. I could be wrong.. I was looking at the fully loaded off road and ended up walking out with the pro..

As others have said, Manuals are hard to come by, especially the offroad here in the Northeast. I would see what the Edmunds TMV is for your area, it will give you idea what people around you are actually paying, let the dealer know thats where you want to be on price, and I would buy it before its gone.

Thanks for all the quick replies. I figured the rack could be removed if needed. And to the above poster, I checked the Edmunds TMV and Edmunds is 40,500 suggested so this might not be a bad deal. I'm gonna text the guy and see what technology package this comes with. That's the only thing I'm unsure of, everything else is exactly how I had it build out online! It's for sure not the premium package, but I don't want that anyways.

    Here's part of the description

Predator Tube Steps, Tow Hitch w Wiring Harness, Smart Key w/ Push-Button Start, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Pre-Collision w/Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Roof Rack, 120V/400W Deck Mounted AC Power, 16" Machined Contrast Alloy Wheels, All Weather Floor Liner & Door Sill Protector, Black Chrome Exhaust Tip, Black Overfenders, Black Tailgate Insert, Blackout Emblem Overlays, Blackout Package, Engine Immobilizer, LED Daytime Running Lights & Fog Lights, LED Fog Lamp w/Black Bezel, Mudguards, Power Sliding Rear Window w/Privacy Glass, Remote Keyless Entry, TRD Off Road Package.

I checked every dealership in Vermont and now I'm queued up for a 5/5 delivery because nobody had an DC OR with Premium (only way to get heated seats) and auto (my teens would ruin clutch.) They were able to add predators (short wife) while it was still on the line and they'll be throwing on rack and some other bits at cost when it arrives. Around here that's about 45k sticker.

Led and moonroof are my most favorite features of my overpriced 2021 cement DCLB

most useful features are Qi charging and heated seats

Keep in mind that the basic tech package really doesn't offer much, just blind spot monitoring and parking sensors. I also noticed the description they gave you lists a smart key and push start which manuals do not have.

Nope, LEDs can just be LEDs - it's like a $450 upgrade on its own. Tech package has blind spot monitoring and reverse sensors that beep at you when you get close to something. The advanced technology package has the multi-terrain camera. I haven't seen any Offroads with just the Advanced Technology package, only the Technology package or the premium package, but I haven't looked in a while on account of getting mine anyways.

I'd echo this. Get what you want OP, but make sure that you're getting what you want for your money. Also consider any potential aftermarket work you want to do, and consider how that will impact the extra packages you are looking for.

My 2021 offroad has led, advanced tech, and premium.

There were 4 2021 coming off allocation exactly same when I got mine 68 days ago around the country

I would never get an aftermarket sunroof, that is a leak waiting to happen.

If you want a manual you are going to have to either order one and wait or be willing to make some compromises. Two weeks ago I got mine, TRD OR manual with Led and a tonneau. I didn’t get the color I wanted but it was the only manual optioned that way in all of eastern NY, VT, W Mass or CT. Plus the dealer missed some body damage on my trade because it showed up during a downpour.
