Stupid Grill Question!

I have had my first Tacoma for 24 hours now. (WooHoo!). So I really don't know that much about it as far as adding mods. So, ...

How do I know if I have the TRD Pro grill? I am wanting to add some of the CaliRaised "Raptor" grille lights but it says it only fits the "Pro" grille. Is this different from the TRD OffRoad grill?

OR grille is different from the PRO grille

There are options for the OR grille

This is the TRD PRO grille... raptor lights are there too...

 

TRD Pro grille w/ raptor lights:



All the grilles for 2016+ tacomas are interchangeable (all years and trim levels). Lots of people replace their original grille with the model that comes on the TRD Pro tacomas (or aftermarket clones of the TRD Pro grille).

 

If it says TOYOTA, it's a Pro grill.

If it has the Toyota logo, it isn't.

Either way, there are Raptor light options available. Just make sure you're getting the correct ones.

JMO, why all the interest in Raptor lights? They serve no purpose. Ford envy?

Did you request a specific color for your truck? Does any other manufacturer have that color? Are you jealous of those other makers?

Probably not. Maybe you just thought it looked cool!

Same with the grille lights.

You should change the grille...Pro grille's look a lot cooler (LOL)

 

You don’t know if u have a pro grill ? Did you do any research on the different models ... must be Friday

 

I have a pro grill with raptor lights. I had to file down the grill a bit with a file so I can fit the lights. The holes on the top are filled in half way so I had to remove those walls to fit the lights and it took a good 3 hours to do. Honestly the lights look best when they are mounted on the top compared to the middle of the grille where its closer to the letters



I'm going to buy a new Pro grille soon so I'll have to do this over again lol

 

I don't want to look like a Ford, but it's OK if that's whats you want. Not my thing. JMO. But I WILL paint my chrome cheese grater grill black!

I didn't look at the PRO version because I didn't want the truck lifted and I didn't want to pay the premium price for cosmetics. I looked at every other model though.

If you have TSS, the dealer will probably void that portion of your warranty when you swap grills.
