    Hiya Bill
Same same ... out on monkey mountain felling and hauling trees. Warmer sunny days are making the trail "sugary" in the afternoon. Got the tractor stuck twice yesterday, got myself out the first time using the bucket to push myself back out of the hole and then refill and pack it to get thru. Second time was last haul of the day and Danny was behind me in Cat skidsteer, so he gave me a little nudge out.

so the trees should be good and dry already then, and you caught them before they started to rot.
Timber you make from them should be good to use right away.
If you want to make sure, use a 2 pin moisture checker with 5/8" needles on the wood your sawmill produces. 12-15% MC ideal, > 18% - okay for outdoor use, will need some time to cure to ambient MC for use indoors.
    >22% = wet.
<10% is very dry, becomes hard to work with.

For explanation of fire pics. That's the Summer pasture owned by one of the original sourdough oldtimers, Wick, on the Mountain. Danny bought his cows from him and the brush we're burning is sections of trees we cleared from the interior section of the pasture last Fall. Conditions were favorable for the burn and Wick showed up around 1PM saying let's git'r done boys.

Nope, doing it myself...weak signal on mtn, I upload pics "small size" ... the file compression on my phone dis-orients the pic. I have to load an app to fix it when I get back in town.

    Thanks Apple
