A Tacoma, just like everybody else...
    Big ups to @MGMSangTaco!
Got my tune today, Adam was super responsive, professional and friendly and tune was done in like 10 minutes.
My truck feels like a totally different vehicle now, wish I would have done this a long time ago.
If you haven't done this yet, go ahead and do it now and then ask yourself why you didn't do it sooner.
Time to sell my Pedal Commander.

I'd like to announce some exciting news. @PapaRee has released his final tune version named KDMax (previous versions called DaCruizer were raved about in the vf tune thread for quite some time) and I am the only one who will be offering it in CO. I ran his DaCruizer 4.0 for about 1k miles and monitored everything closely- everything was smooth as butter, gas mileage has never been better for me (I got 16mpg on a drive from Denver to Evergreen on 35's and full armor where I was previously seeing 11 on regular highway) *though no guarantees on gas mileage*. This final version is even smoother. Many people are content with the vftune files rightfully so, but if you want something more this is a true performance tune.

Pricing is $350 for new customers and $100 to upgrade for previous customers. I will still of course honor the free retunes and tweaks on vftune files provided you make any changes but @PapaRee needs to be compensated for his efforts.

Here are some dyno runs with @PapaRee 's tune loaded- another dyno will be up soon but just so you have an idea.

    dyno stock-2.jpg
    DynoGraph-1.jpg

*previous vftune dyno's did show a higher HP than listed here, but this is a good baseline for how much more performance you're getting with the KDMax tune.

Does this tune play with the shift points as well or just focuses on the HP increases? If I have the basic vftune, and I like the shift points and transmission behavior that goes with it, will the new KDMax tune rewrite that or just add to it? Hopefully I’m making myself clear enough

Had @MGMSangTaco install the OV2.0 on my truck a few weeks ago. He was great to deal with. Definitely notice a difference with the tune, just have not had the time really put the miles on it yet, but already thinking about him bumping me up to KDMAX. These tunes I can fast see becoming an addiction

Shifting is more refined than vftune files IMO, both are great but this tune has been tested and tweaked for months with a bunch of members feedback to find the perfect sweet spot- so essentially it adds to it. @PapaRee absolutely knocked it out of the park IMO. One of the biggest things is airload increase. Engine gets more air and feels way smoother/even more responsive which helps a ton at our altitude. It’s a true performance tune.

Adam came through again with getting me tuned right away. I am trying out the new KDmax 6.0 tune. He got me in first thing this morning and I will be putting some miles on the tune before giving feedback but already noticeably better than the basic VFtune. If you are on the fence at all about tuning with Adam, rest assured he knows these tunes inside and out and is extremely knowledgable and happy to answer any questions. Thanks again Adam! @MGMSangTaco

I've been waiting to post on my impression I just wanted to get some miles on the new tune before I made my post. I want to start by saying ever since I owned my truck I have always used the ect button and sport mode when driving because I felt it was the truck should be from the factory. Over the past 2 weeks I've only been driving around town but today I went up in the mountains and it was a huge improvement. No gear hunting and the power was there. I'm happy I got it done but of course after I get it done the new tune with more power comes out. I will eventually get that one. There are w things I've noticed since the tune. The shifts seem more jerky especially when it's cold and today I noticed a weird smell. The smell was almost like burning plastic and I smelled it while driving on the highway and then while I was parked and idling in a parking lot. On the highway I figured it might not be me and just the area but when I was sitting in a parking lot and smelled it again I knew it was me. I hadn't smelled it before today either and I did check underneath the truck and nothing looked out of place. I will keep an eye on it and see if it keeps smelling like that. All in all I'm happy with it and will be getting the upgraded tune when I get a chance.

Thanks for the feedback, and glad it's a huge improvement! As for the smell, I haven't heard anyone say anything about that/have never experienced it on my truck and have been running vf files as well as well as performance files for a long time. I have never heard of anyone having a smell (even on the multiple year old vftune group)- I would definitely check fluids etc. and for leaks. If you want to come by for a free reflash we can do that. I can take some $$ off my fee for the performance tune too for good measure if you want to come by. Shoot me a pm and we can work something out.

So far so good with the KDmaxx tune. Very noticeably better around town in gears 1-4. The throttle is touchier on take off which takes a little getting used to but not bad. I’d prefer it like that than not. I’m still waiting to give the highway impressions some more time. It seems so far that ECT off actually performs better for my needs than with it on with the kdmaxx tune.

I can already comfortably say that I no longer feel like I need to regear. That was exactly what I was looking for. I’m running heavy E rated 265/75/16 tires and I notice them slowing me down a lot less than before.

    So far, money well spent.

Hey there, if you are unable to come to Denver I can plan on heading to the springs soon, likely next weekend or the weekend after. If you want to get it done ASAP you can come to me. Thanks for reaching out, I’ll shoot you a pm!
