Is this a good price for a NEW 2010?

    NEW 2010 access cab - V6, auto, 4x4, SR5 value pkg, tow pkg, AM/FM STEREO W/CD/MP3/WMA PLAYER __ $25,400 + tax etc.

    What say you?

That sounds like a fair deal, but then again, new Tacomas in my area are overpriced.

The price is not bad, but, remember, a 2010 by now must be a left over as 2011 have been on the lots for a couple months.
Does this package include other things, like alloy wheels? 265/70 16 tires, or the 245/75? Any step sides? I assume it does have fog lights right?

Are you looking to trade something against that price. I'm sure you know there are all manor of dealership deals, and burying price in an amalgamation of trade value, rebate, end of year clearance, manager's deal-o-the-day, financing, . . . is a mysterious art.

I think it would be hard to give you an opinion on the price till we heard all the options. You might give edmunds a try. You can configure the precise options there and get a look at their true value price.

My guess, there is money on the table yet, work it.

Thanks for the info, I agree with you. I listed ALL options. No alloys, no steps, etc. Just SR5 Value pkg, tow pkg, thats it

I would work the price as hard you can.
There are many factors to consider, like how many 2010s are left in your area, the pricing points & demand in your area as brought up earlier.
The Edmunds TMV value suggestion is a good one. There is also another zipcode based pricing site that tells you exactly what people are paying.
Keep in mind, every deal is unique due to trade ins, no trade ins, regional promotions, amounts owed on the car or truck being traded in.
The longer they sit on the dealers lot, the more they have to pay to keep them.
Just as a comparison, I bought a DC 4WD SR5 w/ tow leftover for 24500 4 yrs ago, yours doesn't sound too bad considering. I am in the northeast, good market and had no trade, 2.9% financing.

I do not understand why people ask this question, over and over again- I guess people do not realize you can go online and you can research the invoice cost of vehicles. You just need to know the exact model, and all options added. Once you find this number, this is where you start dealing. As an example this truck- your base truck (model) is a access cab, V-6 auto, 4x4. It has a SR5 package, tow and stero added. Plug this info in and get a invoice price the dealer paid. Keep in mind there are several other ways dealers make money from invoice, like kick backs from manufactures, etc. but in this ecomomy you can get most vehicles for a few hundred over invoice, with some at or near invoice. There are times you can get a vehicle below invoice, but its probably not going to be a Toyota. I paid about invoice in the end, I offered to pay 300 over, but wanted them to add the alloy rims at cost. After the deal was done, during the process of switching out the rims, they realized they needed to add the alloy sensors, retail about 100 ea. Even at half price, that was a additional 200 no one included in the deal and the dealer ate it. Research, get the invoice price and find a dealer who will sell you a truck for a couple of hundred over invoice. This is the only way I have bought vehicles in the last 30 yrs. There was a time you could not get close to invoice with a Toyota, but today is a different story..
    Good luck
