Hand brake warning switch

Ok that sounds good. I have to bring her to the shop Wednesday for a front end alignment. I will get them to read codes. Stay tuned.

The code will not reset itself if you replace the cable/sensor. You’ll have to manually reset.

 

Will it reset if I disconnect the battery cables?

 

No, if you don't have a code reader capable of resetting ABS codes you'll need to use the following procedure.

They make it pretty clear it won't reset unless specific procedure if followed

You're welcome. FYI the "SST" they speak of can be made with a paper clip. You are just jumpering two of the DLC pins together.

Oh the irony! I turned my truck on this morning and found the Brake and ABS light on myself. Never encountered that. I curiously turned the truck off and back on and it went away the whole ride to work.

 

perhaps a fluke, sometimes the best solution is trying the old “ON-OFF” method, that’s my go to for anything electronic before I worry too much.

 

As an electronics tech for > 40 years I too have found the old Off and On method to be one of the most useful tools in my toolbox.

 

lol yeah i did this a few times as well.. and in 3-4 days i have not seen it again (knock on wood). maybe there was just some sort of anomoly with a sensor (went offroading the week before, and finally washed the mud off) who knows. now shes clean and error free for the time being
