    Is there a specialized socket or tool needed to change my own oil? If so what is needed and where can I buy them.

    I do have two free oil changes but the dealership said to change the oil at 10K I'm not comfortable with that mileage. I know that synthetic oils are very good but I wanted to change it at 5k then when it gets to 10k have the dealership change it. I personally want too change the oil at 5K or so not every 10K plus I like using Mobile 1 full synthetic and not sure what the dealership uses.

    I got the same tool as Fargo Taco, as well as the drain tool. Pretty sure 0W-20 only comes in synthetic, so the dealer would use some kind of synthetic. But, I'm with you, I'd rather just do it myself.

    The recommended oil changes in the owner's manual are plenty conservative. Anything more frequent is unnecessary and a waste of everything involved.
