Does anyone else think the TSS is straight TRASH?

I would love it even more if my 18' had "Lane Keep Assist".

Jealous my wife's 19' Rav4 has it. Makes highway driving a better experience.

 

Why can't we just pay attention to our driving, while driving.... I don't get it.

 

I like the cruise control side of it, I have had the big brake warning come on unnecessarily which I didn’t care for.

 

Mine have stopped working completely after 4 years. Usually every winter they’d quit a couple times and come back in the spring

my parking sensors still work though

 

Do you have experience in relocating the sensor? I eventually would like a lift and a pro grille. I wonder what kind of can of worms I'm getting into.
I'm going to try the lowest setting on it and see how that goes. I drive like a grandpa and like distance between me and the other people, maybe the least sensitive setting will make me like it more.

I like it. I have it in my wife’s Rav4 and the only issue we have is in the winter when it snows.

 

I love it. I can now read TW while driving without fear.

 

I bet those calling the TSS system total trash will change their tune when it ends up saving their ass! The system actually works pretty darn good and the technology for this kind of stuff will only get better as time marches on.

 

I really like the TSS in my '18 Sport. I Plastidipped the garnish so it wasn't glaring in photos, I changed the grill to pro style, bigger tires + Billy 51s on all four corners for a 3" lift and I've had no issues with the TSS. Yes it's stopped working in heavy rain, yes it's braked for me when an idiot decided to slow down hard for an turn when I wasn't expecting it.

By and large, I have have no problems with it.

 

I've never had adaptive cruise and all that jazz in my daily, but since when is cruise control not enough? Pay attention, I mean I guess I understand it slowing down for you, but it's so complicated.
I'm not in the manual only crowd, but man is basic better.

 

My truck came with a manual foot brake system that is operated with a human common sense system.

 

Because accidents happen, and this is why they are called accidents. You can be the best driver in the world, but there are idiots out there. Any extra help is great.

 

Happiness is in the eye of the beholder. Maybe get a ridgeline. So many complain about these trucks not sure why they bought it then. Will people ever be happy.

 

Hated it in my 2019 Access Cab for the same reasons. But....LOVE it in the RAV 4 Hybrid (2021). Not sure if it has to do with different calibration or what, but no more screaming to redline every time it needs to get back up to speed, much smoother when braking (Tacoma would slam on the brakes)...Yeah, I know, two completely different vehicles but makes me wonder if TSS was simply slapped on the decades old Tacoma platform but actually engineered into the new RAV4 Hybrid.

 

No experience with TSS. I don't like the idea of the grill sensor, makes modifications to the grill and emblem problematic. Grill sensor do not have to be used for driver assist features. I don't like that box behind behind the rearview either.

TSS also makes driving a manual more difficult.

 

I haven't had problems with the TSS. I do really like the adaptive cruise. I often drive a route through the country that includes several small towns (change in speed limit) and the cruise just follows the car ahead. I wish my 2018 4Runner also had it.

I also appreciate lane departure.

 

This statement is true. TSS applied brakes faster than my reaction, thus saving me from an accident happening from the idiot jumping into my lane without signal or warning.

 

I think the TSS is trash because it interferes with having a bull bar in the perfect spot to protect the grille

 

I have a lot deer in my area, and I suspect if I came around a curve with one in the road that it would react faster than I would.
