Yeah, and? How do you think they got the extra length? just extending the bed past the same wheelbase? That would literally look retarded, not to mention the overhang would make it useless in any off road venture unless you installed 40 inch tires and a 10 inch lift. So yes, the wheel base is extended and the Turning circle sucks on the long bed.

People who prefer long beds never parallel park:D

    Agree 100%

turning radius on my 2021 DCLB sux compared to my 2018 aclb

in sbux drive through sometimes my 21 DCLB will hit rear tire on the inside curb while turning

I parallel park 3 times a week downtown la - no issues

I use my bed full everyday

    to me 5 ft useless

    Every inch matters

Once you get use to driving a pumper-tanker with dual rear wheels and 3500 gallons of water, the long bed is easy. When I went for my CDL years ago for my old department, I actually had to parallel park an engine. In over 25 years of driving fire trucks, that was the only time I had to parallel park one. :kona:

    I do frequently.
I like to see the look on people's faces, and their likely thinking, and commenting to their passengers, saying watch this guy not do it.

And I roll right in where I wanted, no problem at all. ;)

The most common mistake I see people make when parallel parking is trying to park in a space shorter than the overall length of their vehicle.

If people can parallel park real long beds
(8ft) - I think us average IQ taco owners are fine to parallel

Pair of 7 1/2 oars fit nicely cross wise in the 6' bed which needs to happen daily once fishing starts, as do iceboat sails, boom, and other long skinny gear. Sales people tried to convine me to stick them through the sliding rear window in a DC. Not.

Oars also fit nice on the sides of the bed rails (im using a ATV gun rack mounted to my bed rack to hold the paddle)

I recently got rid of an access cab, and replaced it with a DCSB. I prefer the new truck by a lot, but found that I could still shut the bed of the access cab with things that were about a foot longer than what I am able to now.

    Beautiful truck Erik

everyone around me is such an elitist about long bed

we will drive down the road - and they will say nice truck but then look at area between rear door and wheel well. If it’s short bed - they will say “NM it’s a short bed”

    LOL

    Thanks!

I always like the look of the short bed over the long bed, but I like the extra space of the long bed when it comes to having 2 kids, plus with all the neighborhood kids.... im the designated toy hauler.

I use a soft topper in the winters (MN) I take if off in the summer to fit all the kayaks in the bed. The mount gets moved to the other side and becomes a shovel mount then.

But yeah, with a cap it makes it a little harder, my rods stick out the back of my topper when its on and the rods are in the rack.
