Ah yes, earwigs.... There has been a epic battle being waged in my basement for the past 10 years between the earwigs and the spiders.

You and I have the same strategy. I spoke to the guy at BPF (very nice guy) and the passenger side recovery point is indeed rated. They just came out with the driver's side recovery point and I looked closely at it. Two quick points: 1) It requires you drill into the frame for it to be a rated recovery point. I am too chicken to do that. 2) If you combine the cost of both the passenger side and the driver's side, you are within striking distance of the ARB in terms of cost and might want to go that route for full on rated recovery.

But like you, I plan on using the hitch recovery point (which is must stronger) and wanted something for the front just in case.

I did have the Daemon brackets, went to install them and decided to return them. But that is just me. I didn't want to have to worry about them when pulling someone out in the snow. But for me, I am pretty much only doing towing and gently pulling -- not full on aggressive recovery.

The ARB is the only true, full on recovery point. It is the only one that mounts to the frame and not the sub-frame bar that goes across the front of the truck.

Definitely reach out to the BPF guys with that question on the asterix ... they should clear that up to avoid any confusion. I will say, the product is excellent. Very beefy and far more substantial than the daemon brackets when you hold them in your hands there is no comparison.

That said, the daemon brackets are fine if the entire purpose is just for aesthetics. I will also say that I bet you could tow someone with them and not have a problem. Serious pulling, most likely not but for flat towing kinds of things I do think they would work just as well as the tow hook that comes standard on the truck.

So far I like it. Drives a little better than the Tacoma and has less road noise.

Today I went from Kruiser 4.0 to KDMax 6.0 tune. Can't say I notice a huge difference... But it does feel a bit smoother. I was already very happy with the Kruiser tune.

And here's my obligatory dog pictures LOL

    Too much.
    Yeah, working on another solution.

In the meantime, I've been searching for a way to store items that is not a truck box, and will not interfere with the OEM cover. So I did this.

Can anyone give me info on fuel filler door replacement? Mine is sprung badly and annoys the hell out of me.

Can you not remove and try to fix the bend in the mount point? If you have to replace it anyway, might save you some cash?

i guess I could try to. I think my hinge seized up causing it not to open and close correctly and didn’t latch right. I tried to tweak it causing the damage. Now swings open all the time.

Might help if you have a friend with one that would take theirs off and let you have a normal one to compare with. Mimic the bend/angles. Just an idea.

You got a whole forum full, but you could always look at a new truck on a dealer lot to compare with.
