How do I get hold of 2.0 base file to build on without getting the tune package.

It’s in the program files (x86) > VF tuner >stock files or something close to that

if you are talking about the stock files.

And if you are talking about the base VF tune 2.0 that is a tune pack

Buy it from someone with that ecu. Or reach out to Mat and see if he will sell you a single.

    PUBLIC TUNING ANNOUNCEMENT

There is no reason to read your ECU and attempt to try to flash that file right back onto the ECU in the same session.

If you feel you must do this please make sure you're on the latest version. 1.2.9.9.4 which has auto CRC validation.

Please don't even do it. It's just a waste of time and doing so it the same communication session (not cycling power) can cause communication issues.

I can see it now, new community driven flashing procedures:

Read ecu, flash same file to truck, clear DTC, start truck, idle for 13 minutes, or 16:29 if following TSB ECU update, then attempt to read ecu again while turning wheel to the left... Lol

Just like back in the day where idle time following flash started at 5 mins and increased to 10 and then went up to 20 and then back down to 10 and then whatever else it bounced around at lmao

The longer the idle, the more power your tune will make

(this is a joke, don’t do this)

Oh man the joys of user design and testing. No matter how idiot-proof you design the program, the universe will just design a better idiot.

Downloaded the new tuning software version, was on a version from about 6 months ago. Downloaded all the drivers, tried to read ECU with an error code, selected calibration file for my truck and it just came up as Flash Generation: Phase 5 and nothing else, the Calibrate ECM button remains gray. Any thoughts? Trying to load up Kregs performance tune.

Assuming you have all you need to flash:

You already know what ECU calibration you have (the tune file is labelled maybe 04B04? - whatever you yold Kreg to get the file) no need to Read ECU.

Connected, truck on (not running) connected to internet, push Prepare ECU.

edit: it may ask to register your vin using 4 credits if you haven’t done this previously.

After success push Select Calibration File (the tune file you want to flash - may have to hunt for it)

When tune file is found select it and push ‘open’. Tune file will load.

Now the Calibrate ECM button will be available. Push it.

Tune file will be flashed onto your ECU.

When msg says completed: Turn off truck. Start truck.

    Hope all goes well.

Is there a specific tune pack for someone with a supercharger? Or can you just throw a regular one on there & call it a day.

The tune you got from Mag., or whoever you got the SC from. That is your only option aside from going to a dyno and making your own.
