:notsure: i'm no suspension guru, just what I've been told. been dragging my heals on completing the rear end, still just mid travel ADS piggybacks in the rear with the TC +2 up front... back end doesn't keep up lol

Leaf springs like weight - properly configuring where it is fore and aft and how high your center of gravity is will be beneficial if you want certain aspects of performance.

Because SOA typically use an inverted shackle (Taco OEM geometry) which increases the effective spring rate as the suspension compresses. SUA setups tend to use a traditional style shackle, which is then combined with the wrong spring for what they are doing.

But mostly because people don't understand suspension geometry, picking the correct spring, or the tradeoffs of doing a good suspension setup.

    ETA: As you know...

6500# is heavy for a taco, but not at all unrealistic for a loaded rig going camping.

Getting the suspension dialed in is harder, I'd hit JD FAB up for a Raptor based spring-under conversion.

do you have your bump stops installed for bump height or are you just cycling metal to metal?

Just metal to metal. I’m going to set bumps with shocks cycled at the same time.

That front edge of the lca relocation frame took a pretty good hit at some point. Seen at about 1:33 mark. Ouch

On the PS I had to pause the video to see it. That's not as bad as I was expecting and what it was designed to do.

Actually theres a couple. The center one was the river crossing. The LCA was the other trip video I posted a bit ago. I'm not bothered really! This whole truck is pretty beat up.

That's a hell of a hit to bend the front cross bar!!!:headbang:

Damn stuff rusts fast up there it takes a whole year to get rust like that down here.

smashed this, broke that, covered it up with tape and paint
Has there maybe been a conversation about making/selling a mig or tig option replacement crossmember setup
Fully boxed with new pick up points that are still “spec” to factory but better placed as to avoid the current toyota faults.

we see a lot of products of that style in the Chevy world

my taco would benefit from a better built front crossmember :anonymous:

    Too many to remember
That was actually the original plan before the LCA kit and it turns everything into a science project between the diff, steering and suspension.

If you’re at that point the better question is why am I even trying to build one of these trucks? They are heavy, don’t make much power and now the whole frame needs to be redone... the real question is “what are you desperately trying to save?”
