I hear you on going fast in Baja.

I have a temporary tent for now just for keeping the wind off me.

The final tent will be made out of 10oz vinyl coated polyester. I’m going to buy a sailrite sewing machine for that.

But before that happens I want to get some custom alcan leaf springs for the back and new shocks. I’d like kings but we’ll see what happens.

yeah I’m gonna go with some deavers, still undecided on spring under or staying spring over. I’m in desperate need of shocks but everywhere is backed up and I need to weld up a higher shock tower for the rear since I have extra room under the bed and figure out what length I can run.

where do you live? Maybe I’ll pay you to help me sew up my tent!

I want to look at Deavers too. I’m not doing anything for a while.
    I’m in Sunnyvale, CA.
It’ll probably be a pretty long time before I get that sailrite sewing machine.

Made some real progress and got this thing usable for my elk hunt the last 2 weeks. Worked perfectly. Tarp is temporary until I make a real tent for it. Need to get struts and latches for the side and rear doors. Eventually I’ll wrap or powder coat all the bare aluminum.

roof and bed material are 6mm alumalite, wasn’t able to source reasonably priced honeycomb panels so I settled for the alumalite. I ordered 10mm and 6mm showed up, didn’t have time to wait for the 10mm so I ran it. Seems rigid enough, I may add some struts to the roof panel but the bed and fold up are plenty rigid the way I set them up.

True dat, but @garrettG1991 does not pop up. I also quoted his message so that should've laerted him. No answer so far, maybe not an active account anymore.
