I believe that’s what is referred to as the bypass. It cuts part of the trail out. It’s funny though, my buddy swears that the bypass is harder than most the trail

I’ve never heard of that being called the easy way, it’s my understand that’s the gate keeper. That does have a bypass. Then you go down to the first water crossing which leads to winch hill 1

Nope. The easy way to the peak is on the Cisco side. At one point, left takes you to the peak and straight, to the lake—not been to Fordyce that way.

That’s the route I took. I went straight to the lake and then the next day backtracked and made a right to signal peak. I heard Fordyce trail is one of the hardest. I knew it wasn’t the same one I took. Still a nice one nighter camping trip.

I don't see the big deal with Fordyce. It's easy. I did it in a Rav4 loaner earlier this morning while I got my oil and blinker fluid changed at a shop in Truckee.

LOL that is funny, I’m just glad I didn’t accidentally got on the real Fordyce trail and broke down with inexperience and damage.

Searching for another trail which is passable for tomorrow. Has anyone tried Mormon Immigrant pass lately?

I read the EDNF memo yesterday, they just opened up the native surface roads again. It said MET was still deep above Pilliken, give it a few more weeks.
