what’s in side the camper look like? How’s it bolted on? I just ordered two of this to do the same thing. Looks great.

 

Let me know if this works out I want to replace two bars.

 

This rack worked really well for mounting 2x 100 watt solar panels. The panels sit entirely flush with the rack, almost as if they were designed for each other. Just had to use some differently sized spacers because the rack tapers towards the rear.
Really pleased with the rack so far - installation is straight forward, and it's sturdy. I even managed to repurpose the LED cube lights it came with as tail lights.
On the downside there is noise at anything over 30mph, I removed the wind shield and replaced it with a light bar but it made no difference. It's a low pitched hum and bearable depending on your tolerance.

 

Does anyone have a link to the light bar they used? Should I get a curved or strait light bar? Also the people that left the roof molding how did you do it? Does anyone have pictures of the mounting points with the molding in place.

this light bar on Amazon. It's curved. Puts out a lot of light and one thing I like about it is the curved design acts as both a ditch flood and a forward facing beam so it covers a lot of area.

I lost one side of my roof molding (lol) so I ended up going bare with no molding.

On mine, I found that those triangle shaped cutouts are what seemed to be generating most of the noise. I cut small pieces of steel, welded them in, ground and sanded, then repainted and I found that to eliminate most of the noise. It's much quieter than my cheap Patagonia tires now.

 

I mean I can't guarantee this will be your case but I ordered it through Amazon and got black hardware by default.

 

I already have the rack, got it before they switched to black hardware. Looking to buy just a hardware kit.

 

how did you mount your rotopax

 

just starting to view this thread but that is exactly what I would want done to that rack. Really don’t like the cut out gaps. Good job.

 

For me, I just drilled holes through the crossbars to get the rotopax mount to work with it.

Does anyone have a picture of the original literature which shows the size and how many of each bolt is required? Threw mine away, but need to order new hardware. If anyone here is in the rust belt, how did your hardware hold up during the winter? Mines f*ked.

 

My left and right sides along the fairing roof edge are 1/4 off. One almost touches the other doesn’t. Has anyone seen this before?
I’ve unscrewed and disassembled and reassembled the damn thing a hundred times try it to resolve this. Short of pulling the fairing and bending it manually, any suggestions to getting it straight and away from my roof?

 

Sorry for the late response I just drilled and bolted the mounting brackets to the rack.

 

Hey everyone,

I've been scrolling through this thread and I'm wondering if in any of the 55 pages. Has anyone added t-slot or something on the top of the crossbars to make the connection points more adaptable. It looks like there is only 5 or 6 holes per crossbar and I'm looking to mount some maxtrax, rod holder, and maybe a few other small items. Hoping to avoid the spare being up there. Any pics would be greatly appreciated.
