    what's your favorite 27F replacement?

Is it really necessary to go Optima/Northstar/Odyssey?

    Not for me.
I live where it doesn’t get extremely hot or cold.
And I don’t have any aftermarket accessories like an amp, lights, winch...

I went with the best house brand sold at AdvancedAuto. It was their store brand.
Been in since 2015. I have had it leak across the top of the battery. Corroded the tie down a bit.
My fault, I knew it was there. I just didn’t address the issue soon enough.
I’ve seen other brands do the same thing. So, I am not too concerned with it.

My OEM battery didn’t leak. Which was actually surprising.
It lasted just over 7 years.

Interstate batteries have always worked well for me...I change them out at 6 year intervals.

My factory battery also lasted about that long. Personally I use the battery in concert with a voltage booster to maintain battery health. Bonus is increased power to the headlight harness ... MOAR LIGHT!!!

7 years on a battery?! You guys are lucky the average life expectancy for a battery in south Texas is 2-4 years, if you get more than 5 years out of a battery here you did good.

    X2 on the X2!

Mine has been a great battery, it's a rebranded Northstar for cheaper and the no hassle warranty is great, had to warranty a battery that died as my truck sat for about 6 months due to and injury, brought the dead one in walked out with a new one.

Some folks say AGM batteries need more voltage to charge correctly but I haven't had any issues.

I usually get 6 years out of a battery. I'm currently running an Interstate that I purchased at Costco 3 plus years ago.

My OEM True Start lasted 5 years and I'm replacing this year with the same. I replace every 5 years regardless. $179 at the Dealership. Works for me here in ME.

I will suggest to buy as many CCAs as you can afford.

After that, you are paying for longer warranty.

X2 I'm in Vermont and in a bad cold snap a weak battery leaves you stranded with no warning. My truck is stock just want the thing to start.

Me too. I don’t make it to 6 years, I think because I don’t daily drive it. Mine came with a true start that was well over 5 years old but tested good. So I kept it until it started to get weak with an interstate.

I just bought the Wal Mart battery because that's where I was when my truck wouldn't start. I think that was about three years ago.

I got 10 years out of the factory battery...and it was still fine. My local dealer sells online for like 10-20% off retail so I just went OEM in hopes of another 10 years.
