Jimminee christmas, who left the door to Canadia open and let their cold air back in?? I'm about to go and abuse the Tacoma again with getting firewood. A buddy texted on Monday about a 'firewood' party today, apparently 2 decent sized oaks are coming down before they come down on their own and take out the house. I just have to show up, load whatever I want and leave. Sounds like a good deal to me! I can get a jump on next winters wood supply.

I’m considering re-gearing my stock truck to 4.88s. Does anybody have a shop they recommend?

 

Evening all. Lawn tractor was leaking so much oil the EPA listed me as a toxic cleanup site. Sprayed the tractor down with engine cleaner, it seems to be just the valve cover gaskets. Tightened the covers and got the lawn mowed. Appears to be holding oil.

 

Sup all, I’ve got a knock / tap when I’m going super slow and I lightly press on the brakes. I mean engine rpms move the truck with no gas applied, lightly applying the brakes, not enough to stop the truck. I jack the truck up and checked everything, everything’s tight and nothing seems abnormal. Anyone who can help it may know a little more that me? Truck is lifted with Fox 2.5s and 285s. Any mechanics around?

 

What general area are you in? I didn't get nearly as much wood as I expected, although it was good to see some friends again. I did have a great MacGyver moment. The log splitter wouldn't start after refueling. A few squirts of 'Cosby Sauce' just got some flames shot out of the air cleaner. I pulled the plug with vise grips because the proper socket couldn't be found, cleaned her off and used a MAPP cylinder to burn off any extra liquid crud. Still wouldn't start.. a few more shots of Cosby Sauce and still wouldn't run. I pulled the plug, hit it with the MAPP torch again and put the MAPP flame into the spark plug hole, a few small flames shot out so I cycled the engine with the pull rope. That's when I saw that the intake valve wasn't closing. Hmmmm..

I grabbed a screw driver and a rock and "gently" hit the valve, it decided to close. I cycled the engine a few more times and had to tap the valve a few more times but it finally started to cycle properly. I put it back together, pulled the rope and she came back to life! My buddy is pissing his pants in laughter because I just fixed his dad's log splitter with a screw driver and a rock. He swears that the thing never ran that good in years!

Seems like it’s coming from the front driver side and can feel it in the sway bar when pressing the brakes

 

A bad sway bar end link will be noisy but usually only when driving over bumps.

Should be able to get new for close to that price... maybe? I’m not sure what the market is like now lol

 

Good morning everyone and Happy Easter.

Prices are starting to come back down to normal. I was looking at that truck yesterday when I was having my service done at Koons. It’s pretty clean but I’m not a fan of white. A Friend of mine just picked up 2021 white off-road short bed for $36,500 over in Clarksville at Antwerpen.

 

Hope prices continue to come down. All I hear on the news is “chip shortage”, production is being curtailed. GM announced something to the effect that their Q1 average sale was over $40K.
