You will love bigger tires as trd pro wheels are great. Can always sell old tired wheels on Craigslist

Great choice. My first “mods” which are really accessories are WeatherTech mats.

I also have a trifecta tonneau cover which goes on and off easy enough. The 2.0 is even quicker.

I use a couple rocky mounts to mount my wife and my bike in the back. They attach to the bed rail system.

Unfortunately it’s a small town here and I don’t have social media either. How much you think is fair for stock wheels and tires set? Assuming under 1000 miles on them

Re your wheel/tire concerns, I just swapped mine for 4runner pro rims and 265/70 17s. I like the black, the more aggressive offset, and all-terrain tires, which you may not need. In any case, I got the tires locally from a place that also sells used tires, and they gave me a credit. The stock sport rims sold pretty quickly on craigslist for $400. All told, I think I was out about $750 for the switch. If you keep the tires and tms sensors, more like 3-400.

Edit:. I'm in a small town, which means you have a monopoly

I’ll check them all out. Do you have any pictures of the bikes mounted?

My local Discount tire is pretty awesome but they didn’t offer much credit when I wanted my stock Tires off the BMW/Mercedes. $30/tire with like 100 miles on them. It was staggered setup though. I suppose I’ll stop by there Monday after pick up and see if stock Tacoma tires fare better.

Sounds like you did exactly what I want to do except I don’t plan on AT tires. Is the swap an easy process? I noticed the Pro wheels have different offset, is it still just remove and switch with slightly bigger tires?

Yeah, just a simple switch, and no rubbing if 265/70. The thing to remember, though, is if you want to have a functional tire pressure monitoring system they'll still have to dismount the old tires and switch the sensors over, or you'll just have to buy new sensors. So you'll be left with a set of tires and a set of wheels. This made a credit for the tires an easier decision as 265/65 17 is a weird tire size and I had no interest trying to sell them. The wheels are easier to sell, and easier to store if need be.

I ran in the same issue on my F-250 and that was a complete package swap that included OEM Michelin' on OEM Wheels, I did a bit better
on the Atlas where I kept the OEM wheels and just swapped out the Continentals for Michelin Defenders.

I've been running BFG's since the 80's on my trucks and never had any issues that's why I stick with them
and I gain about an 1" and they Great in the Desert & Mountain switch backs.

Trading in the Stock Tires, moving the TPMS into the new set then selling just the wheels... this process sounds simple and cost saving.
I did some searching and it’s looking like $1000 for set of Pro wheels and another $1000 for set of Tires I want. Trading in stock tires I expect $300 Max if I’m lucky I feel. Wheels for $400.. I think I can live with $1300 cost for such swap. Did you notice any change in ride quality? And still on stock suspension and no lift?

I’ve seen the BFG KO2 mentioned so much on TW! But too aggressive looking for my tastes. I don’t know why. I’m under 30 lol

I want to gain that 1 Inch but haven’t decided fully if I want to go 16” 75 or 17” 70. Need to know more about how it’ll change ride quality. I’ve seen some posts of people saying they feel bounces on what looks like flat road. I’d want to avoid such.

trd pro 4 runner wheels should be more like $800 shipped. They're matte, 17 inch. TRD Pro tacoma rims are more like $1000, and are 16 inch, so be sure you're getting the wheels you mean to. Either will look sweet. No noticeable change in ride quality, and i went to cooper discoverer A/T, which are good for everything, including snow, and look better than highway only tires. 60000ish mile warranty. Maybe a 5ish percent reduction in gas mileage, but if I spent some time toying with the air pressure this may be improved.

Bigger wheels are cheaper!? Are they of similar quality but just different size?

Didn't really look into technical aspects of it, as I'm just doing light off-roading and liked the bigger wheels, so I went with the T4Rs. I'm presuming the tacoma pro rims are constructed differently for more intense off-roading. They may be wider, too, can't remember. Also not Matte.

Ah I didn’t know you had to remove the front wheels. So you hook the front part then tie down the rest of the bike?

I second the weather tech/waterproof mats (or any brand for that matter). For me, these are a life saver especially being in construction.
