Let's See Your Cats!!!

We’ve had them for a couple of our cats when they were new additions and we were acclimating them to their new surroundings outside. The types with just nylon straps didn’t work for us at all. They cats would always back out of them and my wife was always too worried that I had it too tight. The type that has more material to cradle the chest area seemed to work better. The last one we got was actually for a small dog.

 

Thanks for the advice y'all. I'll look around and see what I can find based on your recommendations.

Part of the problem we are going to have is finding a harness that will fit a 7 pound tiny fat cat and a different one that will fit a 20 pound enormous bodybuilder cat.

 

Put the harness on from behind them. That's what works best with Bella. She doesn't like it for the first few seconds, but she gets used to it when she's outside. The distractions make her forget about it.

 

It's like putting a bow or hair clip in my 15 month old daughter's hair... Have to distract her right after you put it on otherwise she'll yank it right off

She looked everywhere but couldn’t locate the elusive bunny egg.

 

The ones we bought were from Pet Attire. The picture of amos with the dog harness was from when he was still a kitten and originally we got an XS and it was way too big on him. So we got an XXS. Now Amos is a very lanky 18-19 lbs and the XS fits him. There’s a lot of adjustability. The strap kind that we got for Suki is sized for a cat but the size isn’t on it. I liked that one for her because the straps are made of a softer cotton like material rather than nylon.

The best is when they get along well (cats and dogs), but in my experience a cat has to be brought up with a dog from a young age otherwise they aren't likely to get along.

We really want to get a dog for our daughter, but with two older cats I just don't think it would be fair to them. Harley would probably learn to be OK with it as he did live with dogs before, but our other cat Mai Thai would likely never come out from hiding.
