What tires are you running? Load rating?

You are running 275s and a lift. Put back to stock problem solved.

My 2013 is 100% stock right now with properly inflated street tires and I'm at 19.3-19.5mpg in mixed city/highway driving on my first few tanks.

Still not "good," but moving forward I'm going to consider that the baseline for what these trucks can get unmodified.

Given that, 17 doesn't even sound too bad with a lift and bigger tires

No 17 is the best I’ve ever gotten. Ever. Usually it’s 14 on the highway driving with a light foot

What ply or rating are your tires? The 1.5" lift shouldn't really affect mpg's THAT much. I have 265/75/16's P-Rated All terrains and 1-1.5" lift and I still get 18 combined and around 21 100% highway mpgs. I drive conservatively though which plays a huge part. It's more leaving off the line slowly more than anything from what i've noticed.

    What 275s do you have?
I have around a 2 inch lift, 285s C load KO2s for 51 lbs and a leer canopy and I get around 17 or 18 combined. I live where there are big hills, mountains.
I do cruise at 60 mph on the highway. around 1750 rpms or so.

I have seen others mention that they are on the heavy side, and combined with a softer tread that will effect your mpg.

What do you define as "per tank?" Are you filling up at 1/4, or is the light on when you fill up?

Also, you say "freeway," but what speeds are you doing?

I run my tank from full to nearly empty, and then add up what I get per tank, and then add up what I put back in, and then average a few tanks because I know wind and driving habits affect each tank. I’m usually getting between 220 and 280 per tank and usually adding back in 18 to 19.5 gallons.

What speeds are you running on the highway and have you tried any fuel system cleaner?

Also, I saw your comment about EcoBoosts. They're very solid engines. I almost purchased an F150bwith a 2.7L EcoBoost engine, but ultimately didn't need a full size pickup.

I’m interested in the 3.5 and will eventually need a full size. I’m driving at about 70mph sometimes faster sometimes a bit slower but never flooring it
