This spindle break happened when I was going to do a recovery of a 2020 Taco stuck in the snow on a local trail. A month before that I was in Johnson Valley and made it out with zero breakage. My old spindle had the lower ball joint welded to the spindle from a trail repair a few months before that.

When I got home I gave the rig a once over. That LBJ had a lot more play then it should. I decided to swap out for spare spindle I had. I always weld on Total Chaos spindle gussets but didn't have a set at the time. That weekend I was only going to Death Valley so I decided to do the swap and weld the gussets on later.

In DV I was coming around a corner just north of the Saline turn-off. On the right side there was a rather deep ditch that I hit at full speed with the passenger tire. I looked over the front suspension and everything looked fine. It also drove fine. I finished that trip and drove home with no issues.

The next Tuesday a buddy called me up to help recover that Taco. The spindle let loose about 1/4 mile in on a local trail that I've done 50 times. lol

It is normal for my rig. lol
