Not bad with body but could be a little tighter with better angles but overall I am happy with it. Install was a breeze, wiring was simple just tapped in to factory tag wiring and back up lights. Also was able to fab in my factory tow plug.

Definitely reboot/rebuild if they're OEM see if you can find the better aftermarket longer silicone boots and do the slide mod where you stretch the boots out a little and clamp with a hose clamp so the pleates don't rub each other.

I plan to buy new OEM to replace mine slide mod them, then rebuild my current ones with 240k on them as trail spares.

Started my dual battery setup, I haven't seen anyone else do a dual battery setup like this so hopefully it's because no one has tried it and not that they always burn down... Added a power panel in the rear cubby for charging devices or anything else my heart desires. Have to add a VSR to charge 2nd battery off of alternator charging the first and hook up my switch panel power to 2nd battery for lighting without worry of draining starter.2nd battery.jpg Power panel.jpg Dual Battery Setup.jpg

Didn’t install anything but did camp in the new RTT for the first time with the girlfriend! Was a success!

I think most people don't because they have the emissions equipment there, I know the 2012+ do for sure.

My 2010 has a nice battery sized hole there been thinking of putting my 2nd battery set-up there as well like yours.

    It has been a week
All the grease has not leaked out
And no vandal got under the truck to inject an ounce of gritty sand with a syringe into the joint

If it does not click, and does not have any more abnormal detectable play than the opposite side axle, then I personally would put a new boot kit
$20 for a boot is cheaper than $600 for an axle

What intake are you running? I've never seen one like that. Looks like you have to do a little cutting

Cowl induction snorkel, you can see the thread for it here "https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/cowl-induction-snorkel.525314/". Requires 3 holes to be cut but all in all takes about 30 minutes to do.

Looks like a pretty typical cowl "snorkel" has the benefit of cleaner air given the intake is no longer pulling from the wheel well but it can still intake water if it comes over the hood and there's some negligible restriction drawing from there but the benefit of not having a snorkel on your fender if you don't want that.

    Cost, was deemed unnecessary.

Personally I just wish they would have stuck with the J shift cases from the get go. Having to retrofit one in is a pain!

They really do look great. But Jeezus... can you imagine dunking your truck enough to justify one?

No but I like the idea of having cleaner air going into the intake. I just cleaned my throttle body and maf this weekend and boy was it ugly. Took the intake tube off and cleaned as much of the inside as possible. There was mud caked on the mouth...just one of those things that would be piece of mind I guess

Just out of curiosity, and because I like to play devil's advocate, have you ever seen a truck with a snorkle put on when it was new and it's survived to be one of those with 300K miles on it?

Nope, not very many snorkeled trucks where I'm at. don't even know anyone who has one. Like I said...i don't need a snorkel, but I like the idea of having cleaner air being pulled into the engine and a simple reroute is all it takes
