What do the different Toyota model letter acronyms mean?

the SR5 is kinda outlier since this technically doesnt apply to a tundra (no manual and the new ones are 6-speed auto) or the tacoma since the SR5 model only comes in a 6-speed auto also.

actually the tacoma manual is a 6-speed.

None were 4wd that I know of, just AWD.

And a low percentage of RAVs produced, most just being FWD.

If you are correct, then it's more Toyota fakery, like TRD. Which nothing labeled such in their street vehicles was developed in their racing program.

SR5 I believe is a hold over from when Toyota only had one truck; the Toyota Truck, and the SR5 refered to Sport Runabout 5 (speed) like how the MR2 stood for Midship Runabout 2 seater.

In Japan they consider AWD as 4WD and only differentiate by calling your traditional selectable 4WD vehicles as "part time" 4WD and AWD vehicles as "Full Time 4WD" at least as I recall when I was there.

Have had my 13 Tacoma a month now...it’s a Limited and still not sure what that really means. Don’t really care, though - am enjoying it a lot. Double cab, Spruce Mica, leather, 4.0 Auto. I think it’s been lifted a little bit. After some travel this week, want to activate the Sirius radio. Right now it flashes Check Antenna and Sirius sent activation signal that never worked. This forum directed me how to check to make sure antenna was plugged in the back of the radio, and how to do that. Seems pretty simple. This is a great forum for someone like me whose never owned a “Taco” before. Been enjoying reading about the various camper configurations.

MR is the notation for the drivetrain configuration... Mid-engine, Rear-drive.
Just like FR is front-engine, rear-drive.
